Hey peeps, I've created a channel and added some of my friends who were interested in my hobby project - Vocably.

I also wanted to have some space where I can tell about new stuff I did.

For example, couple of weeks ago I released an iOS Safari extension (https://vocably.pro/ios-safari-extension.html), and this week I added a ChatGPT translator, so the translations are significantly improved.

Foks, if you don't feel like receiving these messages, I don't mind you exit the group or report this channel as SPAM, we still can stay friends.

This week I released a new Android 🤖 feature that lets you translate and create cards from any app.

Today, I started rolling out word usage examples. It has been deployed in the Chrome extension. The other platforms are coming.

If you can select a text - you can create a high-quality flashcard with a few taps.

Btw, similar functionality has been available for Android for some time.

Card grouping is available in the Vocably mobile app now 🎉

The ability to group cards in folders was one of the most popular requests from Vocably users.

Card grouping is now possible with tags 🏷️. Tags are better than folders because you can have multiple tags for a single card.

You can also study multiple tags simultaneously.

Hey everyone, it’s been a bit since I last shared an update on Vocably!

Last week, my two-year contract with Air France/KLM wrapped up, which means I’ve got more time now to focus on Vocably.

Over the past month, I’ve made some big upgrades to both the app and browser extension:

🔥 The extension now supports tags so you can organize words into groups—perfect for prepping for specific lessons.

🔥 With the new GPT-4o_mini, translations are now super accurate and context-aware, making them better than ever.

🔥 The mobile app now includes occasional multiple-choice questions. These questions are top-notch since Vocably understands the parts of speech of words. You can turn them off if you prefer, but I’d definitely recommend giving them a shot!

Vocably is shaping up to be a solid tool for getting ready for real-life language practice.

The previous feature (the mnemonics generation) turned out to be useless, so I kept the button, but replaced it with something better. You can chat with AI about the card. You can ask it pretty much anything:

- Explain the word
- Provide usage examples
- Help you to remember
- Provide list of synonyms

Personally, I find myself using this functionality quite often.

This morning I added past tenses for verbs on all the newly created cards (supports 🇬🇧English, 🇩🇪German, 🇪🇸Spanish, 🇧🇷Portuguese, 🇫🇷French, 🇮🇹Italian, 🇳🇱Dutch, 🇩🇰Danish, 🇳🇴Norwegian, and 🇸🇪Swedish). Let me know if you want it for some other language - can't promise to deliver it, because some languages are insane 🤯, but promise to try my best to do it.

Head to https://app.vocably.pro/ (works only on desktop - for mobile, keep using the app). The functionality doesn't support tag filtering yet, but it's coming in the future updates.

Hey folks, I released a new feature last week. Now you can play the audio pronunciation of any example in the app.

I've been using this feature for a week. My study sessions have gotten a little longer, but it feels like my "language muscle" has been given a new workout.

The automatic pronunciation can be disabled in Study settings.

Hiya! The Vocably browser extension now creates independent cards from sentences. It recognizes phrasal verbs, compound words, idioms, and related structures.

Hi folks! Lately, I began writing extensively in Dutch, and I often think, "Is it grammatically correct?" I tried several grammar checkers, and most of them do a good job of correcting my mistakes but a poor job of explaining the grammar rules behind the correction. So I ended up building this online grammar checker. Not sure yet whether it should be part of the mobile app. For now, I just added this page to the home screen on my phone and use it as an app https://vocably.pro/grammar.html
