What Spellbound is
A word game that levels up. Beat each level’s score with four words, then spend your winnings on relics that change how you score — and hexes you throw at whoever’s ahead.
Spellbound turns word-building into a sequence of targets and upgrade choices. You have four words and three swaps per level, so each submission has an opportunity cost. Placement matters: move a word to use a premium square for its strongest letter.
Between levels, gold buys relics, charms, runes and hexes. A choice that helps this hand may be less useful on the next, so compare immediate scoring needs with the way you expect to play. Crowns decide the finish.
How to play Spellbound
- Each level sets a target. You get four words and three swaps.
- A word scores chips × mult. Three letters is ×2, seven is ×12.
- Slide your word along the row to land your best letter on a premium square. Each square pays once.
- Beat the target for a crown and gold. Silver and gold medals pay more of both. Miss, and a heart goes.
- Between levels, spend your gold on relics, charms, runes and hexes.
- Throw a hex mid-level to freeze, tithe or rob a rival. One hex lands on anybody per level.
- Out of hearts, you stop climbing and start heckling: one free tithe, fog or sap a level.
- Most crowns at the end wins.

A longer word can change the multiplier as well as the chips it earns.
Plan the premium
A premium square pays once, so use it for a letter that makes the placement worthwhile.
Questions about Spellbound
What happens when I miss a target?
You lose a heart. With no hearts left, you stop climbing and can still heckle with the permitted effects.
Is this a standard Scrabble board?
No. Spellbound uses level targets, limited words, upgrades and multiplayer effects.
Is Spellbound free?
Yes. Every game on Table Party is free, with no accounts, no adverts and nothing to buy.
How many people do you need for Spellbound?
Between 1 and 4. Below 1 there are not enough of you for the game to work.
Do we need to download anything?
No. One person opens the site and starts a room; everybody else joins by typing the room code on their own phone. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.
Can we play Spellbound over a video call?
Yes. Share the room code in the chat and play with the call running — everything private stays on each player’s own phone.
