Archer County Newspaper Collection
History
Known as the "Short Grass Ranching Capital of the United States," the county has long been a center for the ranching and oil production, lending to the themes found in its newspaper collections.
Many also know about Archer City because of its famous native son, Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Larry McMurtry.
