We have been made aware of a tree on the line at Abergavenny.
Train services are now able to run through the area.
Our colleagues at Network Rail have now cleared the tree. We expect residual delays until the end of the day.
This is affecting services on our Cardiff Central to Manchester Piccadilly route in both directions. Please continue to travel as planned, but expect delays on your journey.

We expect the incident to last until 20:30 and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.
What's Happened?
We have been made aware of a signalling problem between Pontyclun and Cardiff Central. For safety, train services will be running more slowly than normal through the area, with residual delays of around 20 minutes to be expected.
Our services headed from Bridgend towards Cardiff Central are disrupted. Please note, our services travelling from Bridgend to Cardiff Central via the Vale of Glamorgan remain unaffected. Services travelling from Cardiff Central to Bridgend and onwards towards Swansea also remain unaffected.

Our colleagues at Network Rail are aware of the problem and Technicians are currently on site at the affected area and working to fix the fault. We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.
