Product Description
Western Painted Turtles grow to be the largest of the painted turtles (typically 6-7 inches). They range from Canada to Mexico, so adults, once acclimated, make very good outdoor pond turtles in all climates. Juveniles do well in community tanks, learn to come to feeding hands, love to bask, and stay very active.
True omnivores, they will eat pellets, most water plants, romaine lettuce, insects, fish, worms crustaceans and meat. Western Painted Turtles are distinctly different from other painteds in that they have very impressive red and black belly patterns. An excellent choice for beginning and intermediate keepers.
One of the best and most common choices for garden ponds, adult Western Painted Turtles quickly learn and adapt to their new environments, constantly bask and surface, and learn to recognize their keepers quickly. They add lots of color to your garden pond, and are more visible than most pond turtles. Ours readily eat pellets, water plants, romaine lettuce and cut fish. An excellent choice for both warm and colder climates, Western Painted Turtles get along with most other popular garden pond species.

Western paint turtle
So I gave a 5 star review for how quick turtles were at door step but when I put both turtles in my outdoor pond I noticed the red ear slider was way more active then the painted turtle and he was eating right away as the painted turtle was not eating at all so I just figured he didn't want the pellets and would be fine with bugs or allergy but that was not the case and sadly he died. So he was shipped to me sick from jump and turtle source said past Guarantee never again will I purchase from this company

Western Painted Turtle
Our painted turtle arrived on time and in great condition. Even though I selected "minor imperfection" I didn't notice anything deficient. He looks great and is loving his new home in our pond.

Terrible Packing Methods
The turtle listed on the website was the turtle that was delivered to me. The turtle arrived on time. However; the turtle was placed in the shipping box upside down before the box was sealed and the turtle was delivered to me. This may have contributed to the issues the turtle has had since I got him. He has been unable to submerge in the week that I've had him. He has been lethargic for the last 3 days and I expect him to die in a day or two.
