The Rules
A short, readable summary. Having an account means agreeing to these. We kept it human-sized because nobody has ever read a 40-page terms of service and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
👤 Accounts
- one account per person — you are a person, not a fleet;
- accounts may not be transferred or sold, this is not real estate;
- quota approval is manual and decided per member;
- the space is for personal and experimental static websites.
guest@blackcat:~$ grep -i forbidden rules
🚫 Not Allowed
- phishing, malware, spam, fraud;
- harassment, doxxing, illegal content;
- explicit pornography;
- mass piracy;
- proxies, VPNs, traffic relays, seedboxes;
- file lockers and backup-drive usage — we are a windowsill, not a warehouse;
- SEO spam and deceptive redirects;
- attacks against the server or other members.
(Yes, someone always asks about the seedbox. The answer is still no. It has been no for a while now. It will continue to be no.)
🤔 The Grey Area, Clarified
| You want to… | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Publish a 300-page shrine to a cancelled TV show | YES. PLEASE. |
| Put your terrible poetry online | YES. ENTHUSIASTICALLY. |
| Host photos of your cat | YES. THAT IS THE POINT. |
| Use us as your only backup | NO. AND YOU'LL REGRET IT. |
| Park 40 GB of "linux ISOs" here | NO. |
| Run a crypto thing | ABSOLUTELY NOT. |
⚖ Enforcement
- serious abuse can lead to immediate suspension;
- suspension normally retains your files — we are not vindictive;
- still, keep your own copies, because the service is experimental and the universe is chaotic.
If something is broken, unfair, or you think we got it wrong — just email and say so. There is no appeals tribunal. There is a person with an inbox: hi@theskull.org
