John A. Lent

Frank Stack passed away last April 12 and John A. Lent passed away a few hours ago. I always loved Frank Stack's art style. I remember him mainly from Harvey Pekar's Our Cancer Year. 

As for John Lent, suffice to say that I subscribed to the International Journal of Comic Art since Vol. 1, #1: Spring/Summer of 1999. I even submited a couple of things to the IJOCA...

Unfortunately, this blog is becoming an obituary page. As I use to say: it's my 20th century that is rapidly disappearing.

Today is April's Fools' Day. I wish this was a lie, but it is not: the greatest comics artist of all time, the GOAT, died last March 3.

It was with great surprise that I received an email from Tim Gaze anouncing his North American edition of Ana Hatherly's The Writer, whose cover you can see above. Great news, of course... I wrote about this book on this blog October 7, 2008. Ages ago, or so it seems to me...
