from 4573 reviewsOversized shirt pattern. I made up in Virgin White linen from M&M and added embroidery as it was a little see through and to emulate this season's embroidered shirts from Toast. I replaced the 2 piece collar and stand with the one from the Ottoline jacket.
This pattern was incredible, such a stunning cut and I love how many options provided. Will be making another
Long time since I made pyjamas!
Liberty print Tana Lawn. Heaven alone knows how long I've had the fabric. Went together nicely. Watched the You Tube which helped. Pockets are perhaps overlarge for nightwear but who knows ? Now going to make pattern up for my daughter...
Bought the seersucker fabric from Merchant and Mills in 2020. Finally made this last week....... Went together easily. Have made it before so knew sizing was fine.
I made this for my daughter and she loves it! It’s really comfy and lightweight and folds up tightly when you need to pack it away.
It was a really simple sew and came together really quickly.
My daughter wears it all the time, it’s the first she reaches for.
This is a great project for when you want to sew something really comfy but only have a spare hour or two.
It’s really simple and the instructions are great. I love the fit, I shortened the length by 2” but made no other adjustments and I wear it all the time.
A little trickier than it looks with the gathering yet still comes together quickly for a summery look. Quite a deep v-cut but overall a very forgiving pattern.
Another great pattern from Tessuti. This one came together really nicely, the pockets sit well in the dress and are neatly finished. I made this in a checked fabric for summer and I love it. The only alteration I made to the pattern was to lengthen it by 4 inches as I’m tall and I wanted it midi length. It is an easy pattern to lengthen or shorten as it is done at the hemline. The bodice is similar, being lengthened or shortened at the bottom seam. It has darts at the bust which gives the top some shape. I can fit a T-shirt underneath but equally like it without. I would recommend this pattern to beginners and experienced sewers. I see there is a sleeve expansion pack which I am seriously considering.
I have been waiting for the perfect pinafore pattern for ages, there have been a few released that came close but I’m weirdly picky when it comes to this style. Well I can’t wait no longer because TATB have absolutely smashed it.
Not only was this an absolute dream to sew but the final garment is gorgeous! I love how clean the facings make the neckline and armholes and the optional back adjuster which makes for the perfect fit.
The instructions are clear and easy to follow, I think even an adventurous beginner would be able to sew this and have a great time.
I love that it can be styled with base layers for colder weather or worn without for the summer months. I have already made 2 since buying that pattern and I will be making more.
I made a pair of Bob pants years ago and I had been meaning to revisit the pattern for a while. I’m so glad I finally got round to it. Not only did they sew up super quickly, but they’re so comfy and the fit is perfect.
The instructions are quite sparse, but this is typical of Style Arc patterns, and as long as you have already sewn up a couple elastic waist trousers then you don’t really need them.
I did raise the pockets up and inch because they sit quite low in the pattern but those were the only adjustments I made. The fit and length are perfect, I’ve already got another pair cut out.
This pattern was easy to put together and could be made either very dressy or casual, depending on the fabrics choice. I used two different fabrics for the sleeve and hem facings (satin), and love the flow of this top.
This is a lovely pattern which is extremely easy to put together. I did make alterations - forward shoulder, added bust darts and added length to the bodice and sleeve. Fabric was the subscription for The New Craft House - a beautiful headstock linen from Beyond Nine, and this pattern is a great dupe for their Miley top. Will be making this again very soon
These are great little labels for adding to your handmade items. I've used them on the side of the pocket and the orange ones went perfectly with the vintage fabric I used for this Wardrobe by Me Boxy Shirt
I actually love this pattern , I made the first pair - black - in a drapey tencel and cut as per my measurements. Absolutely fine to wear but slightly on the large size. Make number 2 was in denim and I sized down and took some width out of the legs - I much prefer this fit.
I thought the pattern instructions were good . These are some of my first attempts at a zip fly , so I did also find some sew along instructions on you tube , and happy with end results.
The fact that there is elastic at the back also gives some leeway if you are starting out with trouser making as I am.
I took advantage of a rainy day and made the Sewing Therapy tie dress out of a yellow and white checked gauze. It was so helpful to have the full tutorial on YouTube and I switched between that and the written instructions. I look forward to making another version in a washed linen I’ve had my eye on. I think it will drape beautifully.
