Rise Up Joyful

“When I rise up let me rise up joyful like a bird.
When I fall let me fall without regret like a leaf.”
 ― Wendell Berry

After several days of beautiful weather, the rain came.
I was fortunate to hear the call of a Pileated Woodpecker,
ran to the window, and captured this (through the window)

Pileated Woodpecker

"What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare? —
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.”
 ― William Henry Davies

Pileated Woodpecker

It's not necessary to go far and wide. I mean, you can really find exciting and inspiring things within your hometown.
- Daryl Hannah

I am not sure what Daryl Hannah was referring to
in her quote - but I sure can find
a LOT of exciting things in my hometown...
I just have to step outside the door.
