Tito Jackson, a beloved member of the iconic music group The Jackson 5, has sadly passed away. He was 70.
News of his sudden demise was confirmed by longtime family friend and former manager Steve Manning, who revealed that Tito died on September 15 while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma.
Although the official cause of death has not yet been announced by the musician's family, reports state that the musician likely suffered a heart attack while behind the wheel.
His last social media post was from four days ago when he stopped by at a memorial dedicated to his late brother Michael. Sharing a photo of the memorial, he wrote, "Before our show in Munich, my brothers Jackie, Marlon, and I, visited the beautiful memorial dedicated to our beloved brother,
Michael Jackson. We're deeply grateful for this special place that honours not only his memory but also our shared legacy. Thank you for keeping his spirit alive."
According to his social media post, Tito was expected to perform live next month at the Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena, Atlantic City. He shared a post that read, "Get ready for an unforgettable night with The Jacksons! Mark your calendars for a spectacular evening of music and memories as not only The Jacksons, but also Billy Ocean, and The Pointer Sisters take the stage on October 25! This is your chance to witness three iconic acts in one unforgettable night, celebrating decades of hits that have defined generations."
Born Toriano Adaryll Jackson, Tito was the third child of the famous Jackson family. He rose to fame as a member of The Jackson 5, the legendary group also included his superstar brother, late Michael Jackson. Jermaine, Jackie, and Marlon were also part of the band.
In addition to his success with 'The Jackson 5', Tito launched a solo career as a blues musician in 2003. He released two albums in the past decade, namely 'Tito Time' in 2016 and 'Under Your Spell' in 2021, earning acclaim for his contributions to the blues genre.
Tito Jackson leaves behind three sons, Taj, Taryll, and TJ, as well as nine grandchildren.
