What’s in a name? A lot, if you are in showbiz. While we have seen several Bollywood and TV stars changing the spelling of their names as per numerology, D-Towners are also doing the same now.
Am new to numerology, hope this change works for me: Mallhar
Mallhar Thakar

Malhar Thakar recently changed his name’s spelling to Mallhar and dropped his surname. The 3 Ekka actor, who celebrates his birthday on June 28, says, “This date (28) comes to number 1.

When we add double L, the number adds up to 19, which is number 1 and that’s why I added double L in my name.”
He adds, “I have always believed in astrology, but I am very new to numerology. A lot of people around me believed in it, which made me understand numerology better. Like astrology, numerology is very old. If it works for someone, they should believe in it. I still haven’t considered changing my name in legal documents.”
Blurb: I have seen a lot of actors and directors believing in numerology-basically those whose professions are ruled by Shukra (Venus), which includes media, architecture, drama, music, interior decoration etc. I hope that this change works for me

Changed my screen name to align it with my birth date: Sonaalee Lele Desai
Sonaalee Lele Desai

Hu ane Tu actress Sonaalee Lele Desai, who used to spell her name as Sonali earlier, says, “I changed my screen name purposely to align with my birth date. I had met an astrologer to discuss the title of one of my films, who suggested that I align my name too. He asked me to drop my maiden surname, which I refused, so I had to think of doing something else. My email address already had double E, so I thought of adding double A to align it with my birth date.”
Talking about how this change has affected her life, Sonaalee says, “I think it’s all in our minds. For me, vibrations matter a lot. Every day, if I can get up with a positive attitude and mindset with this change, then what’s the harm? The good part is that the pronunciation of my name hasn’t changed. Also, this spelling (Sonaalee) is just my on-screen name, I am still Sonali everywhere else.”
I wanted to make my name unique: Niilam Paanchal
Niilam Paanchal

Initially, Niilam Paanchal didn’t change her name due to numerology. Talking about adding double I and double A in her name, the 21mu Tiffin actress says, “I used to spell my name as Nilam since childhood, but people always spelt it as Neelam, and I kept correcting them. When I started doing films, that confusion continued, and I realised that there is already an actress named Neelam Kothari. When I started doing projects outside Gujarat, my surname was pronounced as Paanchal instead of Panchal. The media coverage and interviews had different spellings of my name, and I was not happy about it. I wanted to make my name unique and so, changed it to Niilam Paanchal. I also realised that it somehow adds up to my birth date- 24 (her birthday is on November 24). This number is considered lucky for artistes, so everything added up and now, I am happy with this name.”
Other D-Town stars who changed their names:
*Prachee Shah Paandya (her husband changed his surname as per numerology)
* Mayur Chauhan aka Michael (uses the name Michael)
* Saandeep Patel
* M Monal Gajjar (uses M ahead of her name)
