Delegates from Indian, Maldivian side exchange MoUs, MEA says
During Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu's visit to India, several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed on Monday to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries. The Currency Swap Agreement was signed by Ahmed Munawar, the Governor of the Maldives Monetary Authority, and Ajay Seth, the Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance.
Additionally, an MoU between Rashtriya Raksha University of India and the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement of Maldives was signed by Ibrahim Shaheeb, the High Commissioner of the Maldives to India, and Rajendra Kumar, the Secretary of Border Management in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Shaheeb and Kumar also signed another MoU between the Central Bureau of India and the Anti-Corruption Commission of Maldives to foster bilateral cooperation in preventing and combating corruption.

Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu emphasized India's crucial role as a key partner in the nation’s socio-economic and infrastructure development. "I would like to thank PM Modi, the government and the people of India for the generous assistance and cooperation extended to Maldives over the years," he said.
"We (India-Maldives) agreed on a comprehensive vision document, charting the course of our bilateral relationship. A vision for comprehensive economic and maritime security partnership which encompasses development cooperation, trade and economic partnerships, digital and financial initiatives, energy projects, health cooperation as well as maritime and security cooperation," Muizzu said.

"The President and First Lady inquired about the community's wellbeing, listened to their concerns and challenges, and reaffirmed the Administration's dedication to addressing those issues," it added.
As the dramatic improvement in India-Maldives ties in recent months culminated in President Mohamed Muizzu’s first state visit to India that started Sunday, the president told TOI in an exclusive interview that the Maldives would never do anything that undermines the security of India.
Before his meeting with PM Narendra Modi on Monday, and amid concerns here over the strategically located neighbour’s growing ties with China, Muizzu said that while Male continues to enhance cooperation with other countries in various sectors, it remains committed to ensuring that its actions do not compromise the security and stability of the region.
