The way I've always described the sound of this record to friends is "nihilistic optimisim", in the sense that it points out the flaws of the world we live in while also making me feel like I'm not the only one going through it. This record has had a death grip on my soul ever since I first heard it, and I'm not gonna make it let go anytime soon. James
