This reminds me of the advanced spring powered devices in Syberia (the adventure game). I wonder if it is even remotely feasible to store that much power in springs, probably not.

Norn@lemmy.zipOPtovegetarian@lemmy.world•Do you try to convince others to go vegetarian?1·6 days agoI don’t think the drop in the bucket argument is a strong one. That would invalidate a lot of prosocial behavior, such as voting in many elections.
I never had a problem (from my pov) of coming out on top in a discussion. But changing people’s hearts and minds is obviously harder. Did you ever feel like your words swayed someone to the good side?
Norn@lemmy.zipOPtovegetarian@lemmy.world•Do you try to convince others to go vegetarian?2·6 days ago“outside of it being germane to the conversation.” I would include that situation in the topic. That’s the only way I ever discuss it myself. You and at least one other commenter seems to have interpreted my description of myself as someone who brings up vegetarianism out of the blue to proselytize. Sorry that I wasn’t clearer, I never bring it up first. Or at least only extremely rarely. However if there are vegetarians who are more aggressive in that aspect I would love to hear their stories too.

Norn@lemmy.zipOPtovegetarian@lemmy.world•Do you try to convince others to go vegetarian?1·7 days agoI do think the impact matters enough that it’s a good thing if someone is inspired to become vegetarian because of me. I’m very low-key about this advocacy. I generally just want to show it’s possible. I think that should be enough to convince someone.
Norn@lemmy.zipto Political Memes@lemmy.world•New plaque in the White House - this is real6·6 days agoHad to Google what they actually say about
TrumpObama and Biden. This article made it sound slightly biased plus the petty ”Sleepy Joe” part. The plaques are in fact hilarious, on par with a Trump tweet in their tone, entirely biased, mostly fictional. This to me is one of the top pettiest things he has done, since it’s a plaque in an official government building.Edit: actually checked the one about Obama
Oh 😅 Yes absolutely. I’m the monster in this comic.
How is veganism genocide? Not agreeing with the approach of the person you replied to but that’s an odd statement to me.

I also love how the characters play completely differently from each other. The lore seems as messed up as usual for fighting games, but I’m ok with that. Too bad they are fighting games and I can’t play them even remotely well.
But what other genre would even work with a really diverse set of characters and a wacky background story? Action RPG? Cozy farming simulation with dating mechanics and also fighting? Pokemon-like?
I want to know what the Spanish and French speaking internet users do instead. I’m Swedish and we definitely have a big presence on Reddit (and probably fediverse) relative to our population. So looks like another North vs South difference.

I really like the setting and art. The skill tree is silly (in a great way) and decently balanced. The greatest flaw is the game forcing you to wait for animations when moving around making the game way too slow for when you’re familiar (and bored) with the early floors. I would love to see more games like it but it does need more polish imo.
