How to download a TikTok video
With the web tool (any device, including phones)
- Open the video in the TikTok app or on tiktok.com.
- Tap Share, then Copy link. Full tiktok.com links and vm.tiktok.com short links both work.
- Paste the link into the box above.
- Press Download.
- Save the file to your device.
The web tool works with public posts. It has a daily limit because it runs on our servers.
With the Chrome extension (desktop)
- Click Add to Chrome and confirm in the Chrome Web Store.
- Open tiktok.com in Chrome. Signing in is optional.
- Find the video. A Download button sits right beside the post.
- Click it once. A small panel shows the progress, then "Saved to your downloads." with the exact resolution.

Is TokToMP4 a TikTok to MP4 converter?
Not in the usual sense. People search for a TikTok to MP4 converter, but converting usually means re-encoding, which can lower the quality. TokToMP4 does not re-encode anything. You get the video TikTok serves, saved as an MP4.

What is not supported
TokToMP4 does not download:
- TikTok Stories
- LIVE videos
- Whole profiles, or many videos at once
- Private posts you cannot open yourself
Troubleshooting
TikTok shows a human check
Sometimes TikTok asks you to prove you are human. If that happens while using the extension, complete the check on TikTok yourself, then press Try again. The extension never solves or skips these checks.
The video was removed or is private
You will see a clear message. If a post has been deleted, or it is private and you cannot open it, there is nothing to download.
The download stopped
If your connection drops, press Retry to start the file again.
The web tool will not accept my link
Make sure the link points to a single TikTok video or photo post. Profile links will not work. The post must be public.
I hit the daily limit
The web tool's limit resets daily. The extension has no limit.
Privacy and responsible use
