From This Might Be A Wiki

There's so much unreleased stuff out there, I always thought this would make a great boxed set, kinda like Bruce Springsteen's "Tracks" or Nirvana's "With the Lights Out". TMBG has a decent sized fanbase (sellout shows almost anywhere they go) which is also very devoted. If they can sell a documentary movie about the history of the band, they can sell a rarities boxset! --Oddjob 15:22, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

I was definitely giving this a good thought, then just as you pointed out, I though of "With The Lights Out". I get this feeling the John's might feel a tad like it should mark the end of the career or something. Maybe not entirely, but I'm sure you get the drift. Course, look at the das box set from 02. Either, think of this more as..."Sliver" instead of "With The Lights Out" :b --Luke 17:21, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

I am glad this is going places. ~ magbatz 04:59, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Oh good, the current progress is totally equal to how much you mean to me, man. --Luke 05:44, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
HAHA! TWO COMMENTS JUST TO CALL YOU A JERK! HAHA! --Luke 05:44, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
I am waiting for the day that my previous remark can be regarded as sincere. In other words, LET'S MAKE THIS HAPPEN! [Double jerk jerky face.] ~ magbatz 01:35, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

I really like this idea. If you, Luke, or someone else wants to come up with a pitch (even just an outline of a pitch really) I can help formalize it and such. It should probably have an actual pitch, then maybe a thing listing examples of tracks we think would be excellent to include...really just making it look really well thought out and formal. I can e-mail it to Flans because I have his e-mail address from interviewing him last spring. --Michelle 11:59, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

I will certainly make sure to remember the offer when we're ready to submit the proposal! --Luke 20:20, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Tracks[edit]

I'm a fan of most of your recent cuts and choices from the list. But there were a few I'd like to see stay...

  • "We Just Go Nuts at Christmastime"-- a classic dial-a-song
  • I Need Some Lovin' - I know there are quite a few of us who would die to hear this in high-quality
  • and then personally I'm a fan of the Birdhouse demo, Rest Awhile (for some reason, that 30 second demo is a real charmer to me), My Evil Twin, and I'd want Turn Around but I know They'd be crazy to release that strange recording.

And I don't really see what's so special about Operators Standing, I'll Sink Manhattan, or Freebird (which IMO kind of sucks). Just some suggestions/preferences of mine. ~ magbatz 01:35, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

i second the vogelhaus and rest awhile demos. truly. --ant 02:05, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Man, I like the girl version (with the piano!) of freebird. Anyway, I'm comfortable with the list where it is, with new additions/subtractions. Any other requests/removals? --Luke 20:20, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

List Of Signatures?[edit]

I was thinking maybe if we could get the wikians of TMBW to sign the final submission, that would really help the cause out. Anyone have ideas/reasonsthisideasucks?
