Well, I hope you all had a good Easter with your family. We had a good time. We had a wonderful church service and lots of activities there going on with all the families in and everything and so it was a wonderful day there. Then we came on home and had lunch and then had a little egg hunt and Collins is too and he only wanted to find yellow eggs. So, we had to up all the yellow eggs and and hide for him but he had fun hunting eggs yesterday. So, it was a good day and I hope you had a good day with your family. Today, we are going to make what we call Doolollies. Now, if you have my cookbook, it's on page 87 and there's a little caption there that tells you that when I got this recipe, it was just just like on a sheet of just a little notepad. Did not have any title, any name of the recipe, anything. Well, when you get a recipe and if you go pass it on somebody else, you need to name it. So, that's what we did. We decided we call it Doolollies. So, Doolollies are very good and I think you'll like this recipe. So, we going to get started. Alright, first thing we're going to do is cut our oven on 350 degrees. Let that be heating. Alright. You use one cake mix. And you could use any kind. This just is what I had in my pantry. Um it's a Dunkin Heinz butter and actually my recipe calls for that but you don't have to use that particular brand. Alright with all and y'all I love this recipe. It calls for two sticks of butter. One in the base and one in the next layer. So you know that I I shoulda called it butter goodies. It's what I shoulda called it. But but anyway. Alright so we just going to get this all ready. And then it calls for one egg beat that egg up. Now, this is a nine by 13 casserole dish and I just took some soft butter and just spread it around there just enough to make that so that it won't stick. Alright, let's see here. Pour that in first. We're going to keep that because we're going to do a some more butter here in a minute. Alright, we're going to mix this around. And then we'll add our egg to it. And just get this all mixed up. It's going to be thick y'all now because this is going to be kind of like a crust that's going to go in the bottom and we going to take it to press it out all across the bottom of that pan or the dish I guess you'd say. Okay, I'll tell you what, let's get the spatula out. That way we sure will get all of our cake mix. And then I'm going to use the best kitchen tool that we have. And that is our hands. And my hands are clean y'all. For those who are worried whether or not I wash them. So this we just spread out into the bottom of the pan. Just make sure it's all covered. Okay, we got this all patted out now. We're getting ready for our next layer. The first thing is eight ounces of cream cheese and that's just the Walmart brand. So, but you can use any brand. Nice and soft. So, we going to add two eggs to this two. Okay. You just want to be sure all your lumps are out of your cream cheese. Okay. Alright, we're going to melt this a stick of butter. Okay. We've got that already. Now, it cost for two and a half cups of powdered sugar. Now, this is a a two-cup container but I just went ahead and went on up to there which would be probably two and a half. Doesn't have to be exactly but that's just a guess to make. Okay? Our butter in there. Be mixing. A teaspoon of vanilla, That looks like a teaspoon. And you just want to be sure that all of these ingredients are well acquainted with one another That looks good to me. Alright, let's be sure we got all of our ingredients here now. A package of cream cheese, 2 eggs, a teaspoon of vanilla, a stick of melted butter, and two and a half cups of powdered sugar. I Alright. Caroline was just asking me if Doolollies had nuts in them. Well, I've never made them with nuts for the obvious reason. I don't know about the allergies but you could put nuts in em. What I would do is I would just sprinkle nuts on that bottom layer before I put this on and let the nuts just kind of be one of the layers. Oh, Okay. Now, we're going to stick this in the oven. And we go it says to cook it for 40 to 50 minutes, so we go cook it for 40 and then see what it's like that top layer is supposed to be just a little bit gooey now I want to show you one thing The beautiful thing about this recipe is it can have a lot of different flavors. And so what I did I just sat these out. That's a chocolate cake mix. That's lemon. That's strawberry. That's carrot. So you could use any of those for your base. If you wanted like a flavor. And if not just use the regular yellow cake mix. And that way you can make a variety of them. So if you've got people that like first one thing than another or you know whatever and it doesn't change the color of it at all except of course the chocolate wood you know. It would have look like kind of like brownies on the bottom. So we going to let this cook and we will be right back. Okay y'all. I just opened the oven. And so we are well done here. So we still got 2 minutes up there. So this will give you some idea. Now you'll have to do according to how your stove does. Alright, let's put this up there. And while we're over here, let me show you something. Y'all look at that. That is ham perlo. Now, if you watched me last year, the recipe for ham perlo is on there and so almost everybody had ham yesterday for lunch. So, it is a good way to use your leftover ham and that also is in the cookbook how to make the ham perlo. So, let's take this over here Alright. Ain't that pretty? Alright y'all. We going to let this cool a minute. We can't just slice it because this top here needs to congeal just a little bit. So we just going to let that sit for a little bit and cool and then we'll slice it. Now I have fixed supper for my family tonight. I did the hamper. I did the chicken and dressing casserole. I've got peas. I've got Judy salad and sliced tomatoes and then we've got fresh strawberries of course always have pound cake and then I have a coconut pile left over from yesterday that I'll fix up and so we'll eat supper together after a while and then of course we'll have Doolollies also for dessert so we'll be right back okay our Doolollies have cooled now and you can see what they look like now they I cut them this made like twelve let's see 36 nine, 12, 15. Made 15 of the Doolollies. You can cut them smaller if you'd like. That's just left up to you. But I like a nice general serving. So See it's kind of gooey on the top. Oh y'all it's so good. So I tasted it and it passed my taste test so I hope you have a good rest of the week with your family it's a beautiful time of year everything's beginning to bloom and it's just spring time and so everybody have a wonderful rest of the week and shine for Jesus.
