I really enjoy building these bigger pieces out of soft muddy clay. However, it‘s always accompanied by risks that I don‘t encounter when building cups. Many many times they don‘t survive, come out of the kiln with cracks after glaze firing or simply collapsing in my hands just by lifting them. I made this box to be given away in just 2 Days before I was out of time with wet clay. I wanted to make the lid an interesting shape that didn’t require a knob so it is octagonal!

But the good thing is, I can change it within one minute, as it only is attached to two small holes in the lid.
