It frequents the canopy of tall trees. It moves around in pairs but small parties may form around fruiting fig trees. Fruit is its principle food item, but it will also take small vertebrates such as lizards and small birds. In flight its continuous noisy wingbeats is audible for a distance.

Rhinoceros Hornbill

One of the 8 species of hornbill found in Borneo and definetely one of the most magnificent. The outstretched wings of this hornbill can reach about 5 feet long and when flying overhead you can clearly hear its distinguish 'whooshing' wing beats. A sacred bird for the bornean natives.
