When replacing an older, freestanding range with a slide-in, consider a decorative stainless steel backsplash with a textured surface. For its reduced reflectivity and less industrial look, the linen finish was selected from www.commercemetals.com and the left/right edges hemmed. Trim has ¼” square stainless steel bars and a custom design hand-peeled from Merola Tile's Meta Versailles Stainless Steel Over Ceramic Mosaic Tiles (each piece has a variety of 1” and 2” square mesh-mounted tiles).

My granite does not go all the way across the wall behind the current stove. Would anyone happen to have an idea of how it would still be possible to do a slide-in range here instead?

My builder is saying that if I want to have a slide in stove they need to install special cabinetry to accommodate this? Does this sound right? Also
