Accessibility is the layout and creation of products, devices, offerings, or environments for People with disabilities.

There are seven different principles to Universal Design, and these are: Equitable use (make a design that is useful to people with disabilities), flexibility in use (make the design for a wide range of people), simple and intuitive (make the design easy), Perceptible information( make it easy to understand), tolerance for error (design for less hazards), low physical effort, and Size and space for approach and use (make the design the correct size for the space).

Accessibility in urban planning is a vitally important feature of any civilized society - everyone, regardless of their mobility, should be able to access and enjoy public facilities. Crappy-designed accessibility for people in wheelchairs, for example, sends a pretty insulting message: "We added this feature because someone told us we had to, but it's not important enough that we put any effort into making sure it actually helps."
