Waffle Weave Huck Towels
Waffle weave and huck go hand in hand in these super absorbent towels. Although the directions call for these waffle weave dish towels to be woven in Perle cotton, we've substituted our 8/2 Aurora Earth 100% cotton yarn in Natural, Rust and Chocolate for a super absorbent towel. Because we have changed the yarns in this kit to 8/2 instead of 10/2 cottons, you will need to change the sett to 20 epi and 20 ppi and reduce the number of repeats for the desired length of your towel. Yarns: Aurora Earth 8/2 100% unmercerized cotton. Equipment needed: 4-shaft loom; 21" weaving width; 10-dent reedFinished size: four hemmed towels: (Towel #1 15.5" by 28") (Towels #2-4 16.5" by 26" each)Instructions needed: You will need Best of Handwoven: Top Ten Dish Towels on Four Shaft eBook, or you can order th

How to Weave with Pick-Up Sticks
One of the best ways for rigid-heddle weavers to make floats is to use pick-up sticks! This allows weavers to make a third or fourth shed, and break the over/under configuration of plain weave. This post explains how to use pick-up sticks with your rigid heddle loom.
