Connect Trello to any AI tool

For setup details, refer to your AI client’s MCP documentation or built-in instructions. You’ll need to add the Trello MCP server URL https://mcp.trello.com/v1 to your AI’s MCP settings.

Just start chatting with AI about your Trello boards, cards, and lists! You can also tag @Trello in your prompt, but that’s not necessary.

Destructive delete operations are not supported. That means you cannot delete a board, list, card, label, comment, or attachment from AI. Your assistant can archive cards and lists, but cannot permanently delete them. Of course, any activity not supported in the MCP can be done in-product.

For now, you’ll need to choose one Trello workspace for your MCP to call on. We plan to expand this to accommodate multiple workspaces in the future.

Listing the Trello MCP separately makes it easier for dedicated Trello users to search for it. If you are a Jira or Confluence user and would prefer to connect an MCP with all-in-one access to Atlassian’s products, we plan to incorporate Trello into the Atlassian Rovo MCP in the future.

The Trello MCP server uses best-in-class OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication and access control. You can revoke your AI assistant's access at any time. AI assistants cannot perform actions beyond what you can do in Trello directly.

Your AI will have the same access you do in Trello, so it can see all of your Trello content.

Access to the MCP server is enabled by default for both Enterprise and Premium plans. For Enterprise plans, organization admins can restrict or turn off AI read/write access for their organization, or control which AI tools can connect to their organization’s Trello data.
