This year we have stocked the tour full of wargaming goodness. We will be returning to many of the places we have visited in the past, but all will have a cool newness about them. We will see the newly renovated Games Workshop HQ and Warhammer World, and return to Warlord Games and Mantic Games. But this time we will spend most of the day at each place touring their facilities, exploring their games, hobbying and, of course, looting their warehouses! We will also take a trip to one of the industry’s best magazines Wargames Illustrated and the UK home of Battlefront Miniatures…Link: Geek Nation Tours
Added to all this is a brand new lineup for 2018. For the first time ever we will visit Wargames Foundry. Not only will we see their fantastic grounds and facility, but Bryan Ansell (founder of Citadel Miniatures) will regal us with tales of the past. It will be an awesome opportunity to explore the history of our hobby. Undoubtedly, we will roll dice and get to gaming here as well!
But that is not all, GNT is hard at work at adding several other awesome miniature companies. More should be in the wood works, but for now please note that we will also be visited by Atlantis Miniatures, and will be heading off to Mierce Miniatures to see their offices and their exhaustive line of awesome miniatures. We will even be regaled by the infamous Perry Twins when we visit them at Perry Miniatures… Each of the above companies will be taking pre-orders so you will be able to come back with loads of loot.
This tour will focus on Tokyo, covering as much geeky goodness as we could handle all in, or around Tokyo. We have been getting requests for Giant Robot and Video Gaming tours, as well as requests for more Anime goodness. Further, we have always wanted to do an anime shopping tour in Japan – allowing North American Anime geeks to plunder everything from model kits, to action figures to cosplay outfits. This tour will have all those in spades.Link: Geek Nation Tours
You ever wanted to see all the cool places to buy geek stuff in Japan? Have you ever wanted to seek out giant robots? How about game in the very best video arcades that Tokyo has to offer? If so this is the tour for you… Oh did we fail to mention Comiket (short for Comic Market) which could very well be considered the world biggest comic book convention. It is for sure the largest event in existence for lovers of Japanese anime, manga and game subcultures. You will see not only cosplayers and commercial booths, but more importantly this event is for doujinshi or self-published, fan made comic books and fan art. Each creation has a limited run as they normally are inspired by other people’s works and sometimes tread the line of even Japanese fan tastes…
But Comiket will only be the start of our explorations of Tokyo. We will see Akihabara (the geek Mecca of all things tech and the home of more video arcades then you can shake a Pikachu at), we will shop all the famous geek hot spots like the Nakano Broadway, Animate and Harajuku, we will experience a cornucopia of only the best video arcades in Japan, full your luggage full of Gundam and other model kits, we will explore in detail the most famous of geek islands – Odaiba, and visit a steady stream of Japanese temples and museums ending with a fan “Must See” the world famous Ghibli Museum.
This tour will focus on the huge annual AnimeJapan Convention and all the Cosplay, Anime and Manga awesomeness that one can find within its walls. This tour will be much grander in scope than the usual Otaku Japan tour however, as it will see us covering much of Tokyo, but also cool anime, Samurai and just plain fun stuff in and around Osaka and Kyoto as well!Link: Geek Nation Tours
We will start this one off in Tokyo and every anime fan’s dream con… AnimeJapan! Formally Tokyo International Anime Fair, this event is the world’s premier Anime related convention. It hosts all things anime from production companies like – Toei Animation, Bandai Namco, Production IG and Tezuka Productions, has appearances by anime and manga writers, illustrators and voice actors, as well as concerts, award ceremonies and other stage events, and of course tonnes of cosplayers… If you are a lover of anime you have come to the right place!
We will fill you full of awesome Tokyo anime goodness… We will visit The Ghibli Museum, Akihabara, Nakano Broadway, Harajuku, Shibuya, the Robot Restaurant, and of course Gundam Front! Video Gamers will get a few arcades to push their skills in, and we will also visit our fair share of temples and shrines. We will even have a stop or two for all you Otaku that love model building…
The tour is not just about Tokyo however, and we will leave it behind to visit the scream machines of the Fuji Q Amusement Park before hitting the ancient city of Kyoto. Here we will explore some Samurai goodness, at the super fun Toei Uzumasa Eigamura, Nijo Castle and even learn some sword play along the way…
We won’t be done with Anime however, as we venture to Osaka’s Nipponbashi and Amerikamura districts not to mention a Ninja Museum and Festival…
We even have a two-day extension for all those wanting to see Himeji castle and some more temples around Kyoto…

The tour will be built around areas of Japan that still give one the feeling of living in those ancient times. It is our goal to take you back to the time of Samurai. So join us as we explore not only this battlefield in detail but also a wide range of Samurai related sites. The first days of our tour bring us to the Seki Cutlery Festival which is dedicated to blades of all sorts. We will see sword making demonstrations, the Seki Sword Tradition Museum and an outdoor knife show where you can purchase blades of your own. We will then slow the tour down and just like ancient times, we will be forced to hike by the Shogunate (your Geek Nation Tours representative) between Magome and Tsumago. The road was well traveled by Samurai in ancient times and still to this day feels like a journey into the past. We will plunge into a traditional Japanese onsen or two just like the Samurai used to sooth aching bones… Castles will also be on the list and as such we will visit some of the very best – Matsumoto and Himeji Castles. Last but not least, we will visit the small city of Takayama and journey back to ancient Japan in its timeless temples and streets.Link: Geek Nation Tours

Along the way we’ll be sure to make time for playing spotlighted German-designed and German-themed games throughout our stay in that very same country. Join Geek Nation Tours for its most horse-ridin’, gun-totin’, whiskey-drinkin’, rootinest, tootinest tour ever. This Epic tour will include hard-pounding adventure as we explore the final days of the American Old West. You will join a band of ruthless adventurers as we tour the countryside of Wyoming, South Dakota and Montana. We will head off to the Cody Nite Rodeo shortly after our arrival, learn of the local history and perhaps one of the most famous personalities of the Old West – Buffalo Bill Cody, we will even see a gun-fight and give you the opportunity to pick up some cowboy boots and a cowboy hat when we go shopping Western style… We will be staying or dining at some of the most historic saloons and hotels in the area but what Old West tour would be complete without at least one night of camping and carrying on around a bonfire and a horse ride or two.Link: Geek Nation Tours
We will also take a more serious look at the causes of the Great Sioux War and not only the battles that lead up to Little Big Horn but also one of the last of the conflicts – the Battle of Wolf Mountain. We will see not only that battle but also the Fort Phil Kearny and Fetterman Massacre areas, The Battlefield of Where the Girl Saved Her Brother or Battle of Rosebud and of course have detailed locally guided tours covering the Battle of Little Big Horn. We will also look into the personalities of the conflict like Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull and of course the controversial George Custer. We will examine not only the many contradictions of his personality, his publicly loved and larger-than-life career but also his final act and how it created one of the most loved and hated myths in American History. We plan to give you as many perspectives on the war as possible and discuss many of the terms associated with this time in history like Massacre, Defeat and even Last Stand.
But that is not all! We will take in the local Real Bird Little Bighorn Reenactment, a horseback ride of the actual route George Custer took that fateful day, a Pow-Wow, and much much more. Hopefully this will be a tour of high-adventure but we hope to keep the gunfights to a minimum.
So join us as we commemorate the 140th anniversary of this battle.
