Tape: I aspired to create another dimension in the work, something of a different nature than the mark making of the charcoal. I stumbled upon this technique when trying to experiment a way of keeping the underlying sketch piercing through the work. By working over top of the tape and completing the drawing only in the areas the tape is not covering allowed me to develop the piece fully without disturbing the underlying sketch in the taped areas.
