With season 2 of The Mandalorian upon us, I have been attempting to manage my excitement, but I haven't been able to rein myself in completely. Last year, we had a small watch party for the season 1 premiere with a few friends and a full party spread of Star Wars–inspired food.

Uj'alayi, also known as uj cake, was a traditional Mandalorian dessert consumable by Artiodacs. The sticky-sweet brown cake was filled with a variety of cream-colored nuts and dried fruit, and it was infused with a sweet spiced syrup that kept the dense cake moist. A favorite treat among Mandalorians, the recipe for uj cake was handed down from generation to generation.
