Let me show you the proper way to do it so you can build strength and make sure you don’t injure your shoulder.

First, it’s important to remember that the anatomy of the shoulder is different for everyone. The scapular plane is the angle where you have the path of least resistance, and it’s the easiest position for your shoulder to perform a motion. When your elbows are way out wide, there’s a huge stretch on the shoulder, and it can actually pinch the rotator cuff.
