Crossroads Lacrosse on Instagram: "More solo defense drills 🌞 A lot of defenders requesting some love- this set is for @pipashley5 Solo session: 1) start at the crease, pop the ball up behind you, turn and track the ball, CLEAR IT! 2) same thing but add a roll back to clear imagining you had some attackers pressuring you 3) shuffles to ground balls- I do 3 in a row fast before I reset with a quick break 4) game like drill- start with crease defense, pretend she passed into the middle for a cutter. Crash to the cutter with your stick up, defend the ball carrier and cause a turnover. Then go get your ground ball!" First Class Defense on Instagram: "🚨New “Rail Runner” Drill 🚨 Just a variation off of plenty of other GLE defensive drills that I really like. You can coach the details a bit more with your guys or girls, but the constraints do a great job teasing out what we want to work. I think this drill works well for men’s and women’s defense. Just tweak the little things you want to work on! 📐Angle Constraints ➡️ sticks on the ground force defenders to be patient and play crease angles. Helps eliminate the desire for guys to reach for dodgers here. I love this - think it’s very intuitive for the players to get a “feel” for their angles. 🏀 Contact Constraints ➡️ we are “chesting it” like basketball defense. So if your hips don’t get to a good spot, the dodger will run right through you. This elim First Class, Lacrosse, Defense, Things To Think About, It Works, Feelings, Instagram
