November: Challenge#117: Colour My World

 Week Three

Hello Fellow Crafters.....here's hoping that all is well with you and yours. We are surviving OK but Spring seems to have lost its job description and is confused with Autumn. It's cold and wet today and they are talking of snow later on today! The the sun comes out and the plants think it is summer already and sprint off! My tomatoes have flowers and that is not supposed to happen for another 2-3 weeks....

COVID is still disrupting life everywhere I note. Please get your vaccinations and if needed, the booster. Hubby and I will be boosting early in 2022. Until then we can only hope to stay away from anyone with the virus atm.

Now, this month we are celebrating colour

#117: November: Colour my World

TWIST: make it colourful

As it is close to Christmas, there is no surprise that Christmas cards etc feature  - like for the DT inspirations - but you don't have to make a Christmas card. You can create anything paper based as long as there is colour in it - however much colour is up to you too....

Vicki went for lots of colour

Vicki

Mine is a bit more muted - red/blue/green

Let's see what you can create with using stamps....
there are some very yummy entries to date!

Challenge #115: Salutations and Greetings with a TWIST of stencilled backgrounds

Salutations and Greetings

with a

TWIST of stencils in background

This month it is a bit open to interpretation and will suit all mediums.

Either make your greeting the centre of your piece or perhaps do whatever comes to mind to suit the theme - just remember, no stamps please.

The TWIST of a stencilled background is to get you using those stencils laying around in some form or other - or you can make your own stencil and use that to create a background. We must see the stencilling clearly to make sure it is not a stamp. Some stencils and stamps look so alike.

This week the inspiration is from

One of those cards we all hate to make but which are so much needed

This one is so beautiful

Love the paste through the stencil!

What idea are you brewing?

Hopefully it will become a great vintage - you have two weeks left

Midway through July's Challenge: #113 Art and all that Jazz

Well we are half way through July already...

We are midway through winter and those on the other half of the world, halfway through summer and the weather is not good in either place from all the news reports.

On top of COVID we have lockdowns in Melbourne and Sydney, and now floods and fires in the northern hemisphere

We are still OK here is Tasmania but nervously watching the DELTA make its way south....

Enough of gloom - let's get creative!

The challenge this month is

 Art and all that Jazz

The TWIST is to make it a multi media piece of work

mul·ti·me·di·a

(mŭl′tē-mē′dē-ə, -tī-)

The combined use of media

OR

Of or relating to the combined use of several media: a multimedia installation at the art gallery.

Now, technically  any piece of multi media is ART so the twist is done along with the theme! However, you can create with whatever art you are into: music, painting, carving, writing, drawing, making stuff................the art of craft........... as long as you don't use stamps and it is paper craft related.......

PS: You don't have to incorporate jazz into it either but if you want to....let it rip!

We have a surfeit of lovely things for you to look at this week!

Go to the DT blogs to see how they were created and why!

(Did another one. Used a cool technique. Have done a tutorial in my blog post.)

Let's see what this week brings in entries - some great pieces already

REMEMBER: NO STAMPS PLEASE

19 April 2021

Midway through April and Challenge#110: Theme is Animals and TWIST is Layers......

Hello Peeps. Currently typing this up with one cat on the printer and  another around my feet! Small one is trying to climb to older brother without much luck! The autumnal afternoons are turning cool and Weasley is happy to come in and warm himself up chasing Bingo around and hissing at him! The both want to be fed but were appeased with a treat for a while.

Save me Mum!

Autumn has arrived and we are looking at cool days, green tomatoes and wearing layers!

Some of our small villages have a distinct English look - this is Deloraine in the north of the state.
Lots of English trees......

Remember, we have two more weeks to run.....and no stamps thanks........

The Challenge is to have some fun with animals and the TWIST is to layer it up!

Some DT inspiration might get you thinking........

Susan

Remember, two weeks to go!
