Take a context with you

Mostly catch-up this time, plus two fixes to how Trace answers you.

iPhone: Download any context as a PDF and share it straight from the share menu. Already on desktop.

Available on iPhone (Trace 1.8.3).

Android: Download any context as a PDF.
Android: Rate an Ask Trace answer with a thumbs up or down.
Android: Select part of an answer to copy just that, and copying a whole answer now keeps its formatting.

Available on Android (Trace 0.13.0).

Ask about a day you did not capture anything on, and Trace now tells you so instead of summarizing other meetings as if they were that day's.
If something goes wrong at the moment a recording is being saved, Trace now retries, so the context still turns up.

Sharper names, and a faster list

No new feature this time, just the accumulated smaller work.

The people and companies you talk about now come through consistently across summaries, action items, and titles, instead of appearing under a different spelling each time. Applies to conversations captured from August 6 onward.
Your list of contexts loads faster.

Available on desktop, iPhone, and Android.

When you tell Trace what you have wrapped up, it now lands against the discussion that actually holds that work.
An answer now lists every context it drew from instead of stopping at ten.

iPhone: Ask Trace no longer stutters when you scroll back through a conversation.

Tell Trace what you've closed

Reply to any Ask Trace answer with what you've wrapped up, and Trace notes it against the right context. Ask again later and your own words show up next to the work they belong to, so you're not reading the same list back twice. Your action items stay exactly as they are.

Available on desktop, iPhone, and Android.

Context titles are sharper. Each one is now written from the summary Trace produced for that conversation, so it covers the whole thing instead of latching onto a single topic.
Transcripts read properly now. Sentences come back punctuated, which also makes the summaries and typed views built from them easier to read. Applies to conversations captured from August 1 onward.

Improvements and fixes

A few things we sharpened across iPhone and Android.

iPhone: Rate an Ask Trace answer with a thumbs up or down, so we know which answers actually landed. Already on desktop.
Android: Edit every section of a context, including the interview, standup, 1:1, and planning views.
Android: Select and copy text from any section of a context.

Available on iPhone (Trace 1.8, build 78+) and Android (Trace 0.12.0+).

iPhone: Scrolling through a long context is smooth again.

Available on iPhone (Trace 1.7.4, build 76+).

See where every point came from

Every summary line, decision, and action item now links back to the exact moment it was said in the transcript. On desktop, hover a line and click the transcript icon. On iPhone and Android, press and hold a line and tap View in transcript. From today, every new conversation you capture is grounded this way.

Trace works with Zapier

Connect Trace as an MCP server in Zapier and put your finished contexts on autopilot. When a new context is ready, Zapier can pass its summary, decisions, and action items to thousands of other apps, so your notes land wherever your team already works.

Standups get their own summary, by person

When you capture a standup, Trace writes it up person by person: what each teammate did, what's next, and anything they're blocked on, plus the decisions and follow-ups from the room.

Trace works with your Google Calendar

Connect your Google Calendar and Trace lines up with your day. On Mac and Android, you have the option to auto-record your meetings, hands-free. On every device, get a reminder before a meeting starts and share your notes with the people who were there once it wraps.

Publish your contexts to Slack

Connect a Slack workspace and map a Space to a channel. New contexts you capture there post automatically as a clean summary, decisions and action items included, and you can publish any single context on demand.

Interview conversations get their own context template

When you capture an interview, Trace recognizes it and writes it up the way you'd want to read it back: the candidate's background, the questions and answers, clear strengths and concerns, an overall assessment, and the follow-ups. It figures out who is asking and who is answering, so nothing gets crossed.
