By installing or using VINly you agree to the following. We've kept it short and plain. If anything's unclear, email support@vinly.dev.

License

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use VINly on devices you own or control, for your own personal use.

Informational research

VINly organizes information from government databases and other third-party sources. Data may be incomplete, delayed, unavailable, or associated with a vehicle family rather than every individual vehicle. Always confirm recalls with the manufacturer or NHTSA and verify anything material before making a purchase decision.

Not a mechanic

VINly is a pre-purchase research tool. It does not replace a hands-on inspection by a qualified mechanic. It does not perform live diagnostics, inspect a vehicle, guarantee safety or reliability, or detect mechanical defects in real time.

Listings and third-party services

Listings are supplied by third parties and may be stale, inaccurate, or no longer available. VINly does not sell the vehicles, control sellers, or guarantee price, condition, availability, or transaction terms. Opening a listing takes you to a third-party site governed by its own terms and privacy policy.

VINly is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Facebook, Marketplace, Meta, Cars.com, AutoTrader, CarGurus, or any other listing platform. Source and platform names are used only to identify third-party information.

Availability and changes

VINly is currently offered without a subscription or purchase. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features and may introduce optional paid features later. Any future purchase terms will be disclosed before a charge.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VINly is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including losses arising from a vehicle, listing, seller, purchase decision, or unavailable service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the minimum amount permitted by law.

Acceptable use

Don't use VINly to break the law, harass sellers, scrape listings at scale, interfere with the service, or upload content you don't have the right to use. Don't try to bypass rate limits, access controls, or security measures.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced inside the app and at the top of this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes go to the courts in that jurisdiction.

Age

VINly is rated 4+ in the App Store. The app is designed for adults making a vehicle purchase decision. By using VINly you confirm you are of legal age to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, see Privacy Policy §6 for details.
