How it works
One good push changes everything.
Your work stays in your repo. Here's what happens in the game, step by step.
Connect GitHub
- Sign in with GitHub and install the Vigilante app only on the repos you choose.
- Set a daily commit target, like 2 commits a day, and pick your time zone.
- That's the whole setup. You keep coding in your own editor.
Step 1 of 7
Real, verified GitHub work is the only thing that moves your progress. Logins and payments never create a verified day.
The settlement
From quiet ruins to a place worth saving.
Use supplies from verified days to rebuild Lantern District. Upgrade buildings, welcome survivors and bring warmth back to the streets.
Build and upgradeEvery level is visible in your town. The Salvage Yard keeps producing while your streak is alive.
Meet the survivorsEach one has a role, works at their own building and joins your builds.
Follow the JourneyA 100-level story in 10 chapters. Chapter 1 is fully illustrated.

Straight answers.
Does Vigilante read my source code?
No. Vigilante only uses GitHub's push alert: commit IDs, timestamps and counts. Changed file names are checked in memory to skip docs-only commits and are never stored. It never clones your repository or requests code or diffs. GitHub labels the app permission 'read contents' because push alerts need it. Commit messages are saved only if you turn on sharing them.
What counts as a meaningful commit?
A push to your chosen repository that changes at least one real file. Merge commits, empty commits, documentation-only changes and lock-file-only updates don't count toward your daily target.
What happens if I miss a day?
Your town pauses and the Salvage Yard stops producing, but nothing you built is lost. Revival Fluid mends a missed day: earn one by finishing a 7-day check-in (up to one a month), buy a pack, or get 2 a month with Pro. A mended day never counts as a verified day.
Is Vigilante free?
Yes. Verified days, supply crates, building, survivors, daily check-ins, missions and the daily share card are free. Pro is optional, and the app shows the exact price before checkout.
What does Pro add?
Twice the build speed, 2 Revival Fluid every month, advanced Insights, a second repository per goal, premium share designs and a monthly Pro cosmetic (planned). Verified GitHub work still sets the pace for everyone.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, any time from Settings. Your account closes immediately and personal and game data are erased after 3 days. Sign in before the scheduled date to cancel. We keep anonymous totals with identifying feedback redacted, plus payment records the law requires; the GitHub App is uninstalled where possible.
