THE CIVIL SERVICE AMENDMENT ACT (EMPLOYMENT PREFERENCE FOR RESERVISTS WITH ACTIVE SERVICE)

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

The Civil Service Act is amended by this Act.

Clause 14(2)(a) is amended in the part after subclause (ii) by adding "or continues to serve as a member of the reserve force of the Canadian Forces" after "the service".

Coming into force

This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.

Explanatory Note

Currently under The Civil Service Act, employment preference is given to veterans. This Bill extends that preference to include reservists with the Canadian Forces who were in active service.
