Bart Van Kersavond
Bart Van Kersavond was born in Belgium and grew up there. From 1992 to 1993, he studied Arabic in Algeria. After returning, he completed a technical degree in Germany. In 1997, he began his career as a web developer as a career changer, working at an agency in Germany.
Between 2000 and 2016, he lived in Berlin. The city’s street art scene had a lasting influence on his photographic work and led him to systematically document urban art. In 2013, he founded the art and culture blog urbanpresents.net, which has since established itself as a platform for urban art, photography, and interviews.
In 2007, he co-founded the digital communications agency AUGUSTFIRST. In 2018, he established his own freelance practice, weCombine. There, he combines technical web development with cultural and artistic projects—among them work for institutions such as the Marrakech Biennale 2014—as well as the ongoing development of his blog.
Bart lives in Cologne and works with his professional focus and network in both Cologne and Berlin.
