I recently completed a relatively large piece of gaming terrain for use in games of Bolt Action, using plaster blocks made from molds from HirstArts.
It could also be used in any 28mm wargame, including Warhammer 40k, Warhammer Fantasy or Kings of War.

Painting M81 Woodland Tutorial
Here is my latest camouflage painting tutorial, and this time we go back to a classic, M81 Woodland Camouflage. This camouflage was introduced to the US military in, you guessed it, 1981. Since then it has become one of the most common camouflage patterns in the world.

Writing: The Charge of the Danoans, Chapter One, Part 1
What follows is the first three chapters of The Charge of the Danoans,
the second of my novel submissions to Black Library back in 2010. I will be
serializing the first three chapters in roughly 2,000-3,000 word blocks,
posted every couple of days (typically Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The total length of the three chapters of The Charge of the Danoans is approximately 17,000 words.
Here
is the setting: In the Arcadia Sector, the Tau Empire begins their attack on Imperial space with an invasion of the Imperial planet of Danoan. Aware that Danoan's strategic position makes an attack on it likely, the Imperium has given it a small garrison of Imperial Guard in addition to the Planetary Defense Forces, but nowhere near enough. The situation looks grim for the Imperial defenders as the Tau put their plan into motion...

Writing: Only War, Chapter One, Part 2
The following is Part 2 of Chapter One of my novel submission to Black Library, entitled Only War.
Chapter One, Part 1 is located here.
A flicker out of the corner of Nomu’a’s eye snatched his attention, but before he could turn his head the car was violently rocked to one side. A flash of white light and a deafening explosion assaulted his senses, and Asal grunted when his head was slammed into the window. The car crashed back to the ground, and the driver cursed. He threw the shift into reverse, jerked the wheel over, and jammed his foot on the accelerator. Nomu’a was thrown forward onto the floor of the vehicle. Another explosion went off, and shrapnel thunked into the car’s armor, one fragment hitting the rear windshield and starring the glass.

Here is the setting: In the Arcadia Sector, a branch of the Tau Empire is impinging on the Imperium. Depleted due to other conflicts, the Imperial forces in this sector have not yet made a move against the xeno threat. The Tau wish to continue their expansion into a sparsely inhabited section of Imperial Space. In the meantime the two sides negotiate to continue the peace, while secretly making preparations for war. It is only a matter of time before a spark ignites a conflagration...

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Vengeance Unboxing
Originally I wasn't going to buy the boxed set of 6th Edition Warhammer 40,000, Dark Vengeance. The Dark Angels are a little too angsty, goth, and arrogant for my tastes, and while the chaos models are cool, my Word Bearers army is still in its infancy, and has been on the back burner for ages now. But then I thought, I do want to get the rulebook. I did find the small rulebook in 5th edition to be very useful, and far less cumbersome than the full size rulebook. So I thought a bit, and decided that if I spent a little bit more money than for the big rulebook, I'd get a boatload of great minis too. If I didn't want to ever paint the Dark Angels, I could always trade them or something. In the end that put me over the edge.
