In her earth-body sculptures Ana Mendieta used her body as a canvas, covering herself with flowers, dirt, rocks, and grass, and then subjecting herself to the elements. Emotional, alluring, and at times disturbing, Mendieta's work remains deeply impactful decades after her passing.
