Gameplay & Progression

Introduced in March 2024's Season 8 – Act 02's patch, Dusky Island is the third Legion Dungeon introduced within Dungeon Fighter Online as part of Seon content. Playing identically to that of either Ispins or Hall of Dimensions, either you or a party of 2–4 players can select any of the four Operation Cards that's shown on your screen, which is divided into separate difficulties. However, the fourth card now introduces a new difficulty known as Unshackled, that has its own functions compared to Archmage's Transcendence Mode.

Instead of fighting Dragonoids or Transcendentals, this time you'll be going up against a treacherous Largo following the previous Act Quests who was putting up a façade all along towards now - his former allies to be revealed as a Maleficent in disguise, having an ambitious agenda to engulf the entire White Ocean in darkness with Malefic energy through the lighthouse located at Sarra Island by using Bakal's legacies. When entering Dusky Island, Largo will be confronted several times in various multiple forms and phases that he wields throughout your run that also have their own respective mechanics and attack patterns alike. Like with previous Legion Dungeons, successfully clearing each dungeon rewards players with various rewards through item drops and card flips.

Operation & Unshackled Cards

The Malefic Energy around you is getting stronger.

You'll have at least one minute to choose any of four Operation Cards that Brim offers in the form of equipment support, that'll both correspond with the difficulty itself, and help fight against Largo whether it's Skill Cooldown Reduction, Elemental Damage, reducing incoming damage, etc. When clearing a dungeon, these equipment traits can carry over onto the next one when facing him in another form.

If solo players or a party decides to pick the Unshackled Card, this difficulty won't give out any equipment support and instead, Largo will be encountered in a much stronger state with higher HP, adjusted patterns, harsher penalties, and including a strict 5-minute time limit to defeat him. Successfully clearing Unshackled all the way through in both stages unlocks an optional exclusive final boss form that is considered extremely difficult as of the Legion Dungeon's launch.

Though in the case of Levels 1-3 equipment support, if you picked and cleared one of two Unshackled stages at first, but chose to lower its difficulty for the next boss fight, those effects on said-support will receive an increase when selecting it.
