⇨ Japanese A Demon Man Digimon that was banished from the Digital World's heaven, and fell to the backwoods of North Bridge Island. Although it usually has a cheerful, joke-cracking personality, if it touches the skulls wrapped around its waist it goes into a fury like a raging fire. That is because if even one of the nine skulls wrapped around its waist is lost it will be transformed into a terrifying Digimon. It possesses the "Kouyouhoujou" staff which demonstrates terrifying destructive power in the super-heavyweight class, it spins it freely to raise a waterspout (Kouyouhoujou: Kamon no Jin), and strikes the ground with its staff to shatter it and release a raging current (Kouyouhoujou: Taki no Jin). Also, for close combat it can stab with the crescent-moon shaped blade (Getsugazan). It is troubled by worrying, "What am I?", so it went on a journey to discover the answer.

| Sagomon is part of a set of Digimon who were introduced in Digimon Jintrix in 2011, all of whom are closely modeled on the principal cast of the classical Chinese novel Journey to the West—in Sagomon's case, Shā Wùjìng. Other Digimon in this set include Gokuwmon, Cho·Hakkaimon, Kinkakumon, Ginkakumon, Sanzomon, and Shakamon.
Unlike the other Journey to the West Digimon introduced in 2011, Sagomon is a palette swap of a pre-existing Digimon: Shawujinmon, who was also based on and named after Shā Wùjìng. Its design features subtle differences from Shawujinmon, including different body armor, the lack of Shawujinmon's bead necklace, the addition of a belt of skulls, and slightly longer prongs on the crescent moon-shaped blade of its Kouyouhoujou compared to Shawujinmon's Kouyoujou.
