Weather

I won't be making this anyway, but please bear in mind that many parts of the UK are suffering extremely bad weather, so it may be wise to postpone this.--MacRusgail 14:00, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Er, it's an IRC discussion and so not dependent on anybody travelling to any particular place. -- 15:39, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I decided not to go

I have also realised that some people may have work in the later hours. This doesn't involve me at the moment, as I finish at 3:30 this Tuesday, but I decided not to go as I've been notified by that bot a little too late and am tired of thinking it through with my parents. I will miss not seeing some wikipedians I know, such as Nev1 and Fae. Hopefully, I still should be around at the 40th meetup next week. Minimac 06:04, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Summary from IRC wikimedia-uk board back-chat hour - 3 May 2011

Comments raised in the back-chat session included:

  • Making Board meetings more open - possibilities included inviting members to join the live Etherpad minutes, some discussion on sharing the voice but this lacks a technical solution and how more regular sessions such as back-chat on IRC could provide timely board feedback.
  • Where to raise requests for the board.
  • How to attract volunteers for NRM event and for Scotland. An Edinburgh wiki-meet in June was discussed.
  • Comms: Using a Wikipedia message bot or emailing members to invite them to participate on the email list but limiting the number of channels the board uses (such as YouTube) due to our personal bandwidth.
  • Creating a big list of big things shared with members (backlog). Examples; charity status
  • The role of office staff in outreach and wiki-meets.

Suggestion for the next session: Charity application.

This summary emailed to WM-UK Board and Office mail list. -- 08:41, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Notifications

I've started adding notifications of the meetings to meta:Wikimedia meetings (but see my talk page comment about these masking the global meetings). A geonotice has also now been scheduled. Is there anywhere else these should be advertised? Mike Peel 22:27, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
