Commission #5 from @witchyartowl! I had a sudden burst of inspiration when I saw a free stock image with this pose. It’s so X-216: formal and dignified but not TOO dignified. He’s still a Rick with all the struggles that go along with it.
Normally, he wears whatever’s easiest to throw on in the morning, but he’s breaking out his nice coat for a special occasion. I also remembered his gold rings for the first time, lmao. He’s not currently married–they’re just part of his style.
Anyway, I highly recommend @witchyartowl for commissions. She works quickly and captures X-216’s personality so well. The semi-realism style makes him look vibrant. I’m curious about what other Rick OCs would look like in her style 🤔
I wouldn’t normally splurge on a $50 commission, but I loved the way that @witchyartowl drew X-216 Rick in the past (and this one in particular), and I just had to see a full-color drawing. I love the sketchy shading and folds and texture on his clothes.
He looks like a character from an indie comic or zine. And that’s not too far from what he is–a Rick who avoids the spotlight because mingling with others in the past has only caused him suffering.
