The sources said that the operation was carried out in response to “unprovoked aggression” by Afghan Taliban forces and terrorists on the border, under the ongoing OperationGhazab lil-Haq.
According to the minister, the incident took place on the night between April 2 and April 3 during the ongoing OperationGhazab lil-Haq. Operation Ghazab lil-Haq was launched on the night of Feb 26 following cross-border firing by the Afghan Taliban.
A significant reduction of 35 per cent in combat-related fatalities was recorded across Pakistan during the month of March, coinciding with OperationGhazab lil-Haq, according to monthly statistics released by a think tank.
The Foreign Office (FO) on Thursday said that the temporary pause in OperationGhazab lil-Haq against the Afghan Taliban had concluded and the operation would continue “until its objectives are achieved”.
The development comes a day after Pakistan announced that it had decided on a “temporary pause” in the ongoing OperationGhazab lil-Haq against the Afghan Taliban in view of Eidul Fitr and “at the request of brotherly Islamic countries”.
