Ponduru khadi gets GI tag, honouring a century-old craft

Ponduru khadi has been granted the geographical indication (GI) tag by the Geographical Indications Registry under the Union ministry of commerce and industry. Ponduru, an otherwise nondescript village in Srikakulam district, is famous for its khadi.
