As head of UNAMA, Fatima will lead the UN’s engagement with Afghanistan’s de facto authorities while coordinating humanitarian assistance, development programs, human rights monitoring and international diplomatic efforts.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, UNAMA said women diplomats are not only participants in international affairs but also leaders, mediators and advocates for equality whose contributions help shape more inclusive policies and institutions.
