Well, after listening to Death and Black Metal for over 35 years, it sometimes gets boring, even if bands try to innovate. But then you stumble upon an album, which immediately clicks: it fresh, but familiar. It’s emotional, intelligent and complex, but not for complexities’ sake. It flows, it works, it’s authentic. This album is absolutely great, it’s all I want from this kind of music: cold soundscapes, raging fires, the embrace of darkness. 10/10

"Purée" n'est pas le mot le plus élégant de la langue française — et prononcé à l'anglaise, c'est pire : /ˈpjʊə.reɪ/ ou "pyoueurei" — alors Resin Tomb en prend un autre qui commence par les trois mêmes lettres pour baptiser son album inaugural, mais ne vous y trompez pas : Cerebral Purgatory prépare bel et bien un écrasé de matière grise. La vitesse attendrit la chair, les cordes bien tendues de la basse épluchent les tympans ; le mélange de death metal et de sludge défonce le crâne. Un carnage.
