Friendly staff, but no gas when seated in car # 1, so given another car with only a half tank of gas and left to figure out how to start car. Couldn’t start car for 75 minutes and so sat frustrated as office had just closed for the day with staff having taken off before I understood how to start the car. Car price and cleanliness was good, however staff should make sure client can start the car even if it means staying after closing to assure that they do. As a teacher, I always stayed after work to help students out if needed. I rented car just before closing, didn’t know how to use the ignition and was abandoned sitting in the car for over an hour trying to figure out what to do. Lost an hour travel time needed as was heading through the mountains in the dark.

Enterprise called the morning of the rental and told me they didn't have any cars. They told me that I could call all of the other Enterprises in the area for availability but they would not do it. They also told me I could talk with Expedia about the booking. Talked with Expedia who told me to talk to Enterprise. Then redirected to Enterprise who continued to tell me it was my responsibility to call all the other Enterprises in the area for availability - none of which had anything. No apology. No voucher. No effort to make it right. Never again.

Did not like the fact I had to pay for an extra day because the location was closed on a Sunday. Thought the store associate that I dealt with was kinda rude and short with me. The car was quite dirty inside. No floor mat on the drivers side. Salt stains from previous winter. Otherwise the car performed perfectly

Was charged an extra day because they had changed my drop off time till noon rather than the 4pm time we had to be back at airport. So rather than charge for 4 hrs extra they charged 24 hrs. I thought it was petty of the agent.

I ordered the car online for a specific rate and a type of vehicle When I went to pick it up they didn't have what I ordered and provided a "bigger" one And charged me a much higher rate even though I provided a receipt from online They gave me a number to call I did so and was given a confirmation number and was told they added in the 200 dollar deposit The car was not clean inside or out and smelled terribly of tobacco smoke in the trunk so I could not use for my belongings No body came out with me to car to.show how things work or do a walk around I took photos of marks, stone chips a d a ding I told them when I rented that I was not sure of the exact length of time maybe 2 weeks maybe less maybe more a d was told thst was okay Yesterday I received a.call saying it was overdue and unless I drove the 200 miles to Guelph to sign I would be charged 15 extra per day I spoke of the issue with the billing without resolve or resolution This rental was to provide me with transportation until my recently purchased car was ready This rental situation has been unpleasant and stressful

I arrived after the agent closed even though I directly called Avis twice to arrange after hours pick up, as KAYAK advised me to. Avis does not have a 24/7 help line, only a sales line. At 2 am in a city and airport I'd never been in I was left without transportation or immediate help and was told if I didn't return at 7 am I would lose my reservation. Worst rental car experience ever and ended up costing me way more money due to Uber alternative. It was also a massive inconvenience as I was in town for my sister in laws funeral and was supposed to drive guests and family around.

The car was dirty. The chips on the windshield were not documented properly. Had to call later to document the rock chips with Hertz since their renting agent didn't document it on the photos he took. The car was not really SUV. It was a crossover. As well, the windows were not tinted at all. So the vehicle's windows were not easy on the eyes. Additionally, the inside of the vehicle was entirely exposed to the outside, so we could leave our belongings and suitcases in the vehicle unattended!

My money robbed by Herts without giving me a car. Just fooled me saying car will be ready at 12, when I went there they said car is not available and probably will come in the evening, asked me to take another car paying double the money. The bottom line is simple, you make people to book for lower price/ show attractive price in websites, when you reach there simply say cars are not available, only high end cars are available, if you want pay more and take.

I cancelled the car because my wife got laid off on a job she was working out of town and came home with our second vehicle I called 5 days in advance but they still charged me almost half of the original cost after giving me the run around for over 2 hours I didn't have a good experience and don't like being ripped off for something that was beyond my control

The drop off agent was exceptional. The pickup process was poor. One agent with 6 people in que. one customer took 15 minutes. Finally two additional agents stepped in. Accelerated fast check in did not work for me. Car had a lot of minor scratch marks which I don’t care about other than concern of being charged. The biggest issues is after 10 minutes of leaving I received a low fuel notification and had to find a gas station. I was expecting a full tank.

I booked a car with GPS and called to confirm that my request was honoured. I was told it was. However when I went to pick up the car I was told there were no vehicles with GPS. I was upgraded to a better vehicle with CarPlay but it was not a good way to start the trip. Also, whenever I’ve rented a vehicle, someone has always checked the car with me and pointed out where various things are. Didn’t happen here. Had to get the manual out to figure out a couple of things

Very quick and easy pick up and drop off, which is exactly what I needed for this trip. Courteous and pleasant agents. At no extra cost, the issuing agent gave us a slightly bigger car in the same class as the one I’d ordered when he saw all our luggage!

Booked a car to be picked upnin Calgary and returned in Vancouver. What wasnt clear (maybe with very small letters?) was that the drop fee for returning in a different lovation wasnt included in Kayak’s rental price. Drop fee was ~40% of rental fee!! I would probably have booked anyway but not nice to be tricked. Car and waitingntime etc was fine but hard to be happy when cheated this way

I likes the price, didn't like how the car wasn't clean at all covered in dead bugs and dirt. Didnt like getting a sports car when I rented an suv. Should be ashamed giving such a dirty car to paying customer first thing I did was take it to the car wash spend 30 bucks with a brush scrubbing all the dead bugs off of a car I just paid 1000 bucks for .

We arrived in Toronto with our family of 6 on time. The shuttle to pick us up was a 5 seater SUV even though when you call they ask how many people are in your group so we had to break in two groups to do two trips. We get inside ACE car rentals to be told the are putting us in a 5 seater SUV! We reserved a 7 seater SUV for the 6 of us so clearly a 5 seater won't work. The worker sat there arguing with my husband saying my husband doesn't understand that they don't have 7 seaters available! We reserved a 7 seater well in advanced by the way. So they tried to get us to take two cars but only one of us drives and how does that make any sense to have double the tolls,parking and gas! Anyways the worker looked online and told us that enterprise has a 7 seater available. He did not call to confirm just got the shuttle (two SUVs ) to drop us off. We go in to enterprise with our 4 children all of our luggage to be told they do not have ANY vehicles available and now we are stranded in a city we are not familiar with and have no vehicle to get anywhere. This experience was absolutely terrible. We spent well over 2 hours after our 5 hour flight looking for a vehicle to rent. We still have not been reimbursed for the vehicle we never recieved on top of all of this.

The deal i registered for online said Unlimited Mileage. When I picked up the car I was told I only had 200kms a day, a total of 400kms. When I showed the clerk the email he told me I had to read the terms and conditions. My point is on the email it clearly states Ulimited Mileage with no anchor point directing anyone to read the terms and conditons. The deal was in my opinon false advertising as any reasonable person would read the Unlimited Mileage as being part of the deal, as was visible upfront and centre as th3 main proof point. I feel this was very misleading.

I was suppose to have mid size SUV. The rental company did not have any cars on hand. After an hour of waiting, i was told that they only have 1 toyota corolla on hand. That car was too small for my family, but I had no choice but to take it, as I had to leave my hotel, and had fairy tickets purchased prior to that day. We had to have the luggage placed on my kids legs for the 2 weeks , which was the entire duration of the trip when driving. I will never use that service again, as I am very dissapointed with the service thta was provided.

I don't like getting a half tank car, and then having to try and fill it to that level. I ended up returning full, so hopefully the next guests keep it at that.

Worst experience I’ve EVER had with a rental car. Despite talking to them before I even left my departure airport, when I arrived in YVR and called them for a shuttle to get the car, they told me they didn’t have my reservation. I had prepaid for the car. I was told they didn’t have my reservation (even though they found it during the first call). The guy in the phone was beyond rude and told me that they wouldn’t do anything for me. They weren’t going to help.

My license had just expired (my fault) I'm frustrated that I ended up needing to pay an extra cancellation fee on top of paying the full price of the rental. Really feels like it should be one or the other, and the vague policy of "changing dates and times may result in an extra charge" feels like it would be more reasonable. Location, rental price and vehicle were positive, however the pickup and drop-off experience was less enjoyable compared to other agencies. Factors such as a high refundable deposit ($1500), a 2500km limit on mileage (even though functionally irrelevent), and requirement for two pieces of identification with address were unexpected and made the process less smooth. Demeanor of staff also could have been friendlier.

First car they gave me had no washer fluid - then I stopped and filled it up and it still did not work. So , I drive from Hamilton back to the Toronto airport to get a “safe car” where I could clean the windshield. They gave me a different car and gave me the money for the useless fluid that had been out in the other car. So they gave me a different car the next day. Needless to say, this one also has issue. Shame on me for not checking the washer fluid on the second car - because Logan’s behold - the second car had the same issue as the first. Brutal. Also, I got pulled over in burlington by the police the other day as they claimed that the plate on the car was expired and not valid. Wtf? So when I get asked for the ownership - guess what?!? - no ownership paperwork in the car. Do you guys really do this full time? This operation seems pretty unprofessional. I mean - who gives out unsafe cars? Twice? And with zero compensation…. Especially after I called and asked for the manager to call me back after I found the second car was unsafe too - but no call back. The guy at the counter was nice. Very easy and efficient. We landed, picked up our bags then called and they came to pick us up right away. Just a few minutes away from the airport stopped in to sign the paper work and we were on our way. Drop off same thing, very easy. Dropped vehicle off they do a walk around and shuttled us to the airport right away. Awesome experience. Great price.

We had to wait at the train station for 25 minutes before we got picked up, which was not ideal after a full day of traveling. Also, the engine lamp was lit on the car which surprisingly was more or less dismissed since that is the case for many of their cars, according to themselves. Overall, though, great people to work with and other than the things mentioned above we were very satisfied with the experience.

It took well over an hour to pick Up my vehicle making me late for the rest of my day. No apologies or discounts on my bill. Car had a very odd odour, not sure exactly but the cleaning products made it smell strongly of something I would liken to a “barn or farm” setting. I accidentally drove through one section of the 407 and they charged me $50, no sympathy. The office space and washroom were also straight up filthy. Avoid here if possible.

We had a new Toyota Rav4, which seemed great, but the computer screen on the dashboard was frozen or restarting/glitching. We had 6 hours of driving to our destination, plus 3 more days with no bluetooth or access to radio. Requested a small partial refund and they offered a future discount instead. Other than forced raw-dogged travel for a business trip it was fine.

I liked that the car met my expectations. However, I was disappointed by the lack of transparency and the customer service: - The online price did not include the mandatory insurance, making it appear much lower than it actually was. - When I collected the car, I was told to return it with a full tank, even though it was not provided with one. When I returned it, I was told the opposite and received no credit for the extra fuel I had added. - Three days after returning the vehicle, I still have not received the final invoice or the refund of my CAD 1,000 security deposit, despite being told everything was okay when I returned the car.

Advantage uses another agency at the airport. They are difficult to get to, the shuttle doesn’t run very often and they are hidden down a hallway in a hotel. The office at this place called York is only open 9-6 and there are no after hours pick ups or drop offs but that was NOT made obvious during the rental booking process. Because the shuttle took so long for pick up I arrived at the office at 6:10. No one was there. I tried calling the number - voicemail full. I was given the advantage number to call for issues which I did. The person at Advantage said they can’t help me with that particular location and gave me the number I called originally - voicemail full still. Called the next morning when they were supposedly open- no answer - goes to voicemail, voicemail still full even though the office has been open for an hour. I decided to cancel my reservation. Again Advantage said they couldn’t do it I would have to speak to local office, can’t get through to local office. Sent York an email - they replied they cant cancel it, I would have to speak to Expedia. Expedia said they can’t cancel it, I’d have to speak to York. Ended up having to book another car with a different agency. I WOULD NEVER RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE or recommend them.

Extremely disappointing experience. I have rented in past from other Toronto rentals. While everyone has their policies, this experience left very bad taste because Flexways and Swift rental agency doubled up cost quoting additional insurance requirements when I arrived to pick vehicle.

At Toronto Pearson airport, it is a little bit tricky to get to the actual rental car pickup. 1) You have to find the tram to the Viscount Station. 2) You have to identify the cars from Ace that will pick you up to take you to the rental. They were unmarked cars so we had to ask the driver who he was with. The directions told me to call the company when I got to the station, but they never answer the phone. 3) The checkout of the car made me feel like they were going to charge me for any infraction of the rental car agreement, so i took a lot of pictures of the car prior to signing off. I was fortunate to do that because there was a scratch that they pointed out when I returned it and I proved to them it was pre-existing. I also had a problem with them no accepting my American Express Premium Car Insurance. They were going to charge me $9/day to use it. I declined it and when with my own car insurance. Overall, I'm 50/50 on whether I'd rent from them again. The price was unbeatable but I was worried what my end price was going to be. One last note is that the folks that drove us back and forth from the airport were really helpful and nice. The folks at the counter I'm somewhat neutral on.

The price was great. Service to and from the airport was good. This business is the same rental agency that does not have very good reviews. They have done a rebrand and now go by a different name. The car was reasonably clean but smelled inside. There were many scratches on the outside of the vehicle and 3 out of the 4 hubcaps were scratched. If you like the price rent from this agency but document the damage very closely. As mentioned the price point is very good but I feel their advertising is deceptive.

Terrible. Took about 1.5 hours to get my car. Office was crowded, multiple customers ahead of us had problems with their reservation (mainly about insurance). They could not find our reservation as apparently, it had not been forwarded to them by Kayak. Took a long time to process. This was the first ... and last time that I will use Kayak to rent a car (other than the next reservation I have with Kayak in Portugal which I do not expect to be any better).

I wish to report extremely arrogant, unprofessional and unacceptable behavior from the rental car company manager. They have charged my card without any authorization or reason and are now not responding to calls and emails. Further, they tried to create and inflate minor issues to wrongfully charge this to my account. They tried to force me to sign the paperwork where I am made to accept the “new damage” without allowing me to take a copy for my records nor allowing me to add my notes and signature. Upon making it clear that I will not sign any blanket statements with misrepresentations, they became aggressive and asked me to leave the office without the proper documentation or explanation. Further, I was denied the shuttle to the airport that had been advertised by them at the time of booking. This has been a very unpleasant experience and I want my money back. Please refund the full booking amount along with additional compensation for harassment to my credit card.

We requested a vehicle that would accommodate 8 people. Surprice assured us the vehicle we rented would accommodate 8 people - it did not, only 7 people. Our rental agreement stated 4000km free and then 0.18$ thereafter. The car rental company said only 1400km were free and we needed to read “the fine print”. The windshield was covered with ice and snow. There was snow on the roof and hood of the vehicle causing it to blow off on the 401. The vehicle only had half a tank of gas. The windshield washer fluid container was empty. The car did not have a snow brush to clean the ice and snow off. This was incredibly dangerous as we rented the vehicle for a week in Toronto during Christmas. We had to purchase both windshield washer fluid and a snow brush. The car rental staff were rude and just shrugged their shoulders when we questioned the kilometre issue. They said they had no staff to clean the snow and ice of the vehicle despite 4 people sitting behind the counter watching a hockey game. Never. Ever. Again.

They did not honor the details of my reservation. In spite of my reservation clearly stating a limit of 4K KM, they charged me per km after 200km. When challenged, they gave no reason. Furthermore, be warned: it took over an hour to walk quickly through the airport, take a train, then take a shuttle to the car rental counter. It would have been even longer if I had to pick up bags.

The address given on the KAYAK receipt was incorrect. Luckily, our Uber driver phoned the agency and was able to locate the correct office in the Travelodge lobby.

I had to take my partner to the hospital for an emergency on the morning of pick-up, and was late to pick up my rental. When I arrived, I was told the car I had already paid upfront for, for the whole day, had been rented out to someone else, and that the customer service agent couldn't do anything to help as I had booked through a third party. Terrible customer service experience - I will not be using this company again, and would not recommend to anybody.

The car I was given was extremely loud, making me feel very unsafe driving it. Probably a first generation hybrid, hence the noise, but I question if fit to drive at all. I also asked for a receipt upon returning the car. It was denied saying the company does not allow that. It makes no sense. How can one prove they returned the car if they can't have a receipt ? First time I hear this. The two different clerks were pleasant otherwise.

We thought we rented a vehicle at the airport and found out that the pick up location was 15 min away. We then attempted to cancel the rental and it took 2 days of reaching out between, kayak, priceline and yesaway to find a person to cancel (can't be done online). Then over an hour on the phone trying to get over all the required restrictions. Once it was done, it was fine but what an arduous prospect!
