Serving Success
Choosing the best fresh strawberries at the store is simple. PickΒ outstandingΒ berriesΒ every timeΒ withΒ these tips:
Choose strawberries that have:
- bright red coloring
- natural sheen
- fresh looking green leaves (these leaves are referred to as the calyx)
TIP: For the freshest strawberries, avoid berries with bruising, decay and excessive moisture.Β
Strawberries should be kept refrigerated and stored in their original package. Strawberries storedΒ in a cool and dry environmentΒ are bestΒ enjoyedΒ withinΒ 3-5 days after purchase.Β
TIP:Β Remove strawberries from the refrigerator an hour before eating forΒ the most flavorful berry.Β
With the calyx still intact, rinse strawberries in cool tap water just before serving. After rinsing, gently blot dry and enjoy!
- After rinsing, gently blot dry.
- Remove the calyx at the top by slicing with a knife.
- Place the cut side down (top of berry) on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.
- Place uncovered in your freezer for 24 hours.
- Transfer strawberries to a freezer bag or container.
*Following these steps will prevent the berries from clumping together.Β
TIP: Frozen strawberries are perfect for baking or smoothies and can be stored for 3-5 months!

Ingredients:
4 eggs
2 oz. whole milk
β
oz. ground cinnamon
3 slices sourdough bread
4 oz. bacon
Salt and pepper to taste
6 oz. roasted turkey breast, shaved
ΒΌ oz. Dijon mustard
2 slices Havarti cheese
3 oz. brie cheese
4 oz. sweet butter
5 oz. mixed berry jam
4 oz. California Giant blueberries
4 oz. California Giant strawberries
4 oz. California Giant blackberries
4 oz. whipped butter
1 oz. powdered sugar
Directions:
1. Combine 3 eggs, milk and cinnamon. Set aside.
2. Cut off all bread crusts and remove a small circle in the center of two slices.
3. Cook bacon and heat turkey on a griddle. Set aside.
4. Add butter to griddle, dip your bread slices in egg wash and begin toasting. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Flip toast when ready, and add an egg to the slice with the hole.
6. Add your brie, turkey, Dijon mustard, Havarti, jam and bacon to the two whole slices.
7. Top the French toast and egg with whipped butter, berries and powder sugar. Enjoy! π

- pinch of sea salt
Directions:
π Add ingredients to a blender or food processor and mix until chunky.
