MANAGING PARTNER
David is Managing Partner of Claret Capital Partners. David has more than 20 years of experience in technology lending and financing. Prior to the buyout of Claret Capital from Harbert Management Corporation, he and Johan Kampe had co-founded Harbert European Growth Capital. From 2002-2011 David was with ETV Capital, one of the leading providers of European growth loans at the time, where he was responsible for originating and managing investments and served on the Board. Prior to ETV, David worked at Broadview International, where he spent 7 years originating and executing technology M&A and financing transactions. David earned a BA at Trinity College Dublin, a Diplomkaufmann from EAP-ESCP and a Masters in Finance at the London Business School. David is a citizen and resident of Ireland.
MANAGING PARTNER
Johan is Managing Partner of Claret Capital Partners. Johan has more than 22 years of experience in technology lending and financing. Prior to joining HMC in January 2013, he and David co-founded Benefide, a firm focused on originating specialty debt transactions on a deal-by-deal basis, closing eight transactions over an 18 month period. From 2005-2011 Johan was with ETV Capital, one of the leading providers of European growth loans at the time, where he was responsible for originating investments and was an alternate on the company’s investment committee. Prior to joining ETV, Johan was with Silicon Valley Bank, and co-founded the European subsidiary of the bank, SVB Europe Advisors, funding technology and growth businesses and backing venture capital funds. Prior to that, Johan worked with a startup company and various financial institutions, including Prudential and American Express. Johan earned BA in Finance and International Business from San Jose State University (Magna Cum Laude). Johan is a Swedish citizen.
CFO & OPERATING PARTNER
Paul is the Operating Partner of CCP. Paul has over 30 years of experience in financial markets, having spent the last 15 years as a CFO and COO in the alternative investment sector. Prior to joining CCP, Paul ran his own consultancy business for 4 years, providing financial, operational, risk and regulatory support to private equity and hedge fund managers looking to grow their asset base, launch new funds or enhance their infrastructure. Prior to this Paul was interim COO at Pillarstone Europe and COO of Eclectica Asset Management where he helped to double assets under management in two years to $1.3bn, through new fund launches and the setting of higher operational due diligence standards. From 2010 to 2012 Paul was COO (Asset Management) for Matrix Group, overseeing the operations and development of a £4bn diverse asset base. In this role he served as board director of several regulated entities. He started his career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen where he qualified as a chartered accountant before becoming European Treasurer for a mid-sized US fixed income house and subsequently, Head of European Cash Management for Merrill Lynch International. Paul has an MA from the University of Oxford and is a qualified corporate treasurer.
VENTURE PARTNER
Joey joined Claret Capital Partners in September 2024 as a Venture Partner in Life Sciences. With over 30 years’ experience in this sector, Joey will focus on building on Claret’s existing Life Sciences network, sourcing new deal opportunities, and will act as an advisor to the team.
During his career, Joey has worked as an investor, entrepreneur, financier, director, mentor and advisor, and has significant experience in most segments of the Life Sciences industry – medtech, pharma/ biotech, diagnostics, health IT and techbio. He has served on the boards of 20 private and public companies in Ireland, Europe and the USA and also on the board of EVCA (InvestEurope), the trade association for the private equity industry in Europe. In 2021, he co-founded Duplex Capital Partners to advise and fund young companies innovating in the digitalisation of life sciences. Prior to this he led a Life Sciences fund at M Ventures, Merck KGaA’s corporate venture arm in Amsterdam, having previously spent 10 years at Delta Partners where his signature exit was the sale of Neuravi Ltd to Codman (J&J).

Antony joined the Claret Capital Partners in June 2017. He has responsibility across the full deal cycle and all aspects of the investment process, with a focus on sourcing, evaluating and executing investments in high growth companies across the Technology and Life Sciences sectors. Prior to joining CCP Antony worked at PwC in its Valuations business, having previously been part of its Insurance & Investment Management practice. He is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Manchester, where he studied Geography.
PRINCIPAL
Brian joined Claret Capital Partners in January 2023. He has more than 15 years of experience in lending to high growth companies. At Claret, he supports the team across all aspects of the investment process for innovative companies across Europe. Prior to joining CCP, Brian spent eight years at Silicon Valley Bank, where he led their Irish business and supported Technology and Life Science companies with more than $500m in debt financing. Prior to joining Silicon Valley Bank, Brian spent four years at Barclays, and three years at Bank of Scotland (Ireland). Brian holds a Bachelor of Business Studies in Accounting and Finance from Technological University Dublin.
PRINCIPAL
Daniel is a Principal at Claret Capital Partners. Prior to joining Claret in May 2019, Daniel was in the Corporate Finance department of Grant Thornton between 2018 to 2019. Daniel initially started his professional career in PwC Dublin where he received the ACA qualification with all first time passes. Daniel earned a Bachelor of Business Studies degree from Trinity College Dublin in 2013 and a Diploma in Corporate Finance from the ICAEW and CISI in 2018.

SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Philip joined the team in June 2022 with a focus on sourcing new investment opportunities and performing fundamental research and company analysis. Mr Treacy has been in the industry since 2015. Prior to joining Claret Capital Partners, Mr. Treacy worked as an Investment Analyst for Beach Point Capital Management focused on their venture debt strategy and before then Mr. Treacy worked as an M&A analyst at Uniphar Plc focused on their buy and build strategy. Mr. Treacy received a BSc in Economics and Finance from University College Dublin and an MSc in Quantitative Finance from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.
SENIOR ANALYST
George joined Claret in November 2022 and is responsible for supporting deal origination and fundamental company analysis.
Prior to joining Claret, George worked at Arden Partners as a Corporate Finance Manager, executing on a number of IPO’s, Fundraises and M&A transactions. George qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) at PwC, working in the Private Business – Audit and Assurance department. George holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
PORTFOLIO ASSOCIATE
Jared joined Claret Capital Partners in October 2021. As a Portfolio Associate in the team, Jared focuses on providing thorough insights to enhance investment performance. Prior to this role, Jared gained valuable experience as a Financial Analyst at an early-stage startup in London. In 2023, Jared earned his CFA Charter. Additionally, he holds a degree in Investment Management from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
ANALYST
Chantal joined Claret in April 2024, to support deal origination and fundamental company analysis.
Prior to joining Claret, Chantal was a Turnaround and Restructuring Executive at EY, focusing on strategic consulting, insolvency, M&A and debt restructuring.
Chantal is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and holds a BA in History from King’s College London.
ANALYST
Emma joined Claret in April 2024 and is responsible for deal origination, due diligence, and execution.
Prior to joining Claret, Emma worked at KPMG as an Assistant Manager in their Transaction Services practice, focusing on financial due diligence of financial institutions. Before this, Emma began her career in KPMG’s Deal Execution team, assisting clients across multiple sectors with Integration & Separation activity including operational due diligence and synergy tracking.
Emma is a qualified chartered accountant (ACA) and holds a degree in Economics from Durham University.
ANALYST
Max joined the team in August 2022. As an Investment Analyst, he is responsible for supporting deal origination and execution for growth-stage businesses across Europe. Max holds a first-class honours degree from the University of Leeds, where he studied Mathematics and Finance and participated in both the Leeds Investment and Trading Society and the Rugby Union Society. Max also passed his CFA Level 1 exam.
PORTFOLIO ANALYST
Amber joined the team as a Portfolio Analyst in March 2024. Her role is to provide internal and external stakeholders with robust investment analysis and work more broadly to optimise the portfolio’s performance. Prior to her role at Claret, she worked as a Consultant at Protiviti, having specialised in Financial Due Diligence and Credit Risk.
Amber holds a degree from the University of Oxford in English Language and Literature and is studying towards her CFA Level 1 qualification.
FUND CONTROLLER
Ryan joined Claret Capital Partners in November 2021 as Fund Controller and oversees the financial, operational and reporting aspects of the Firm’s Funds. Ryan started his career in Audit with Buzzacott where he qualified as an accountant (ACA), subsequently he moved to into Fund Administration with Langham Hall where he progressed to Senior Manager overseeing a number of private fund clients including venture capital and debt strategies. Ryan holds a Masters in Finance and Investment from the University of Exeter.
FUND ACCOUNTANT
Kieran, holding BSc in Finance from Queen’s University Belfast, joined Claret Capital Partners as Fund Accountant in March 2022. Kieran has previously worked for Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas in Private Equity and Hedge Fund Accounting teams. Most recently he worked for SEI Investments as a Private Equity Fund Accounting Supervisor. He will continue to pursue his ACCA (part qualified) studies.
FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
Richard joined Claret Capital Partners in October 2023 and is responsible for finance and the compliance reporting of the company. Richard has more than 7 years’ experience leading finance teams in regulated environments. Richard is a Chartered Accountant CA (SA), having qualified at Deloitte South Africa before spending a further two years at Deloitte Guernsey working as an Audit Manager. Prior to joining Claret, Richard headed up the finance function for a Guernsey based investment manager and stockbroker, a London based tech company and an LME commodities broker.
FINANCE ASSISTANT
Niamh joined Claret as a Finance Assistant in September 2024, to support the finance function across both corporate and funds.
Prior to joining, Niamh was a Trainee Accountant at MT Finance, where she focused mainly on investor reporting.
Niamh holds a BSc in Economics from University of York and is currently studying towards her CIMA management accountant qualification.
HR & OFFICE MANAGER (ON MATERNITY LEAVE)
Rebecca joined Claret in March 2023 as HR & Office Manager, supporting the CFO and wider team in day-to-day operations.
Her role encompasses ensuring staff wellbeing, productivity, personal development and growth. Rebecca works with the Support team to ensure a welcoming office environment and a busy and exciting atmosphere while helping to ensure smooth processes and effective outputs for the team.
Rebecca has 7 years experience working within administrative support functions, most recently heading up Operations and HR at a leading design practice in central London.
Rebecca graduated from Westminster University in 2015 with BA Hons in Illustration.
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
Francesca joined Claret in June 2023 as Executive Assistant to David Bateman & the Principals. Her role is primarily supporting the Managing Partner in all day-to-day activities and workflow, as well as the wider team.
Francesca has seven years experience working across various sectors in administrative and support roles, most recently at the global executive search firm, Odgers Berndtson. Earlier in her career she also spent two and half years working in Dubai.
HR & OFFICE MANAGER (MATERNITY COVER FOR REBECCA BROOKE)
Natalie joined the Claret team in November as interim HR & Office Manager (Maternity cover for Rebecca Brook). Her role will support the CFO and wider team with day-to-day operations in the London office.
As part of her role, Natalie will also support the wider People & Culture agenda looking after personal development, wellbeing and the growth of the team.
Natalie has over 12 years’ experience working across hospitality, operations and workplace experience. Most recently at Boston Consulting Group, where she worked as part of the Senior Business Operations.
OFFICE MANAGER
Agustin joined Claret in February 2023 as Office Manager and EA to Johan Kampe. Based in Malaga, Spain, Agustin supports the Managing Partner in all day-to-day activities and workflow.
He has previously worked in the Argentinean banking industry as budget controller and as Management Operational Analyst.
Agustin has also worked as General Coordinator of international and national congresses, events and as office manager at the Latin American Society of Transplantation.
Agustin holds a Business Administration degree of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina with over a decade of intensive experience in the field.
