Storm Tracker Alert For Monday Night!
It’s been a warm, windy and overall murky Monday here in southern New England as we prepare for our evening/nighttime rain. A cold front approaching from the west will drive rain and a few rumbles of thunder our way tonight.
Expect a few showers in the early evening, but heavy rain to begin after 8 PM. By the time we get to 10 PM or so, expect a few pockets of heavy rain, as well as a rumble of thunder or two. That said, the heaviest rain looks to fall between roughly 11:30 PM and 4 AM tomorrow morning. Allow me to emphasize that we are not anticipating a major storm system here, but we are looking at an “uncomfortable” night between the heavy rain, some gusty wind, and that potential for some thunder and lightning. For that reason, we are in Storm Tracker Alert mode tonight.
Rain tapers off before the morning commute, but don’t be shocked if you get a stray shower or two tomorrow morning, as well as some patchy fog, mist and drizzle, especially along the coast. That said, it will become more pleasant with clouds decreasing throughout the day. Highs will be in the low and mid 50s on Tuesday.
The cooler, post-frontal air will finally catch up with us by Wednesday. It will be much sunnier, but highs will only be in the mid 40s!
The end of the week looks unsettled with chances of showers increasing Thursday, as well as Friday morning.
