The pace in which women's cricket is growing in India is unbelievable. Girls have started playing on the streets with boys which you never used to see happen. They want to be a Jemimah Rodrigues or a Deepti Sharma.

It is a proper career now for women. If India go on to win this World Cup, this will change women's cricket. The game is growing rapidly worldwide but in a commercial aspect, this will change drastically.

Yesterday I said could it be a final for the ‘underdogs’? Yes it is and what a performance from India on home soil too! Well deserved. Great final ahead!

  5. 'The entire county is with us'published at 17:51 GMT

More from Harmanpreet Kaur, on Jemimah Rodrigues: "Jemimah Rodrigues is someone who wants to do really well for the team. She wants to take responsibility, we always have trust in her.

"Both of us had a very good time on the pitch, we were complementing each other, she was doing the calculations for me. I really enjoy batting with her. Before I say anything, she's saying it to me, it shows how involved she is. We should give a lot of credit to her, she held her nerve for the team.

"We are now one more game to go. We all played, are really happy with the result and have already started speaking about the next game. It shows how focused we are. Playing at home is very special for us, it's time to deliver for our fans and family. One game to go and we'll keep giving our best."

On the crowd: "We are not playing alone, they are always with us. They've been amazing, when we lost we got messages saying this cup is not at an end. The entire country is with us."

  6. 'We've been working for so many years'published at 17:49 GMT

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur: "I'm very proud, I don't have words to express myself. Feeling great, we've been working for so many years. It's an amazing feeling.

"We spoke with each other, we've done this. We have this trust that every player can win any match, in any situation. We made some mistakes in this tournament, but we've learning from these mistakes. We kept telling ourselves to be there for the team.

"We had realised we didn't execute really well in the last five overs. We could have taken a bit more risk a little earlier. We all discussed in the team room that once you're out of the game it's hard to come back. You have to be very calculated. We all know what we had to do, we knew we had to finish it before the 50th over and that's what happened."

If you win a game like this against the best side in the history of the game and when you win with the biggest chasing total, you have to go into the final as favourites.

Harmanpreet Kaur's innings should not be forgotten - she was equally important as Jemimah Rodrigues to India crossing the line.

  8. 'We will see more talent unfold'published at 17:47 GMT

More from Australia captain Alyssa Healy: "It is a weird experience to watch the next generation going about things. Pheebs [Phoebe Litchfield] was sensational today and set us off nicely. Kudos to her and it has been fun to watch her and the next few years will be exciting to watch.

"There will be more opportunities for those guys moving forward which is exciting. It has been a sensational tournament and it is so disappointing to be stood here right now.

"We created pressure and opportunities but we were not able to capitalise. If felt the same last year not going out how we wanted to play.

"We have played some unbelievable cricket and it is about turning up in the semi-final. There is so much to be proud of and every single player's contribution. That is probably why it stings a bit more.

"The beauty of this cycle is we will see more talent unfold. Our one-day cricket will shift again and we will learn from what we did wrong tonight."

  9. 'We were outdone' - Healypublished at 17:45 GMT

Australia captain Alyssa Healy: "Good contest in the end. We did that to ourselves a little bit. We did not finish off with the bat and we dropped catches in the field. We still hung in but we were outdone in the end."

On getting 338: "We thought we had half done the job! We knew we left some runs out there but it was still a good wicket. If we bowled well we were still in the game but we weren't able to capitalise.

"India held their nerve throughout their innings and got themselves over the line."

India have stolen the spotlight but for Australia, they'll be wondering how they - quite literally - let their title defence slip through their fingers.

    • Missed stumping - Harmanpreet Kaur on 10
    • Dropped catch - Jemimah Rodrigues on 52 (a tough diving catch for Phoebe Litchfield)
    • Dropped catch - Rodrigues on 82 (Alyssa Healy)

Most people (myself included) had written India off at the halfway stage - they needed to complete a record chase in women's ODIs after all.

But India kept up with the required rate throughout their innings and a 167-run third-wicket stand between Jemimah Rodrigues (127* off 134) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (89 off 88) broke the back of their chase.

Rodrigues fittingly stayed in until the end while Amanjot Kaur - who picked up the big wicket of Phoebe Litchfield in the first innings - hit the match-winning boundary.

'Fantastic' Litchfield scores century as Australia continue to punish India

Spare a thought for Phoebe Litchfield, whose mesmerising 119 (93) will be almost completely forgotten in India's elation.

She super-charged the first half of Australia's innings and shared a huge 155-run partnership with Ellyse Perry (77 off 88).

However, having looked on course for well north of 350 at one stage, India pulled things back following Litchfield's dismissal, taking four quick wickets as Australia slipped from 220-2 to 265-6 and while Ash Gardner smacked 63 (45) at the death, they were bowled out for 338.

  13. 'Navi Mumbai has always been special for me'published at 17:32 GMT

More from player of the match Jemimah Rodrigues: "Last year I was dropped from this World Cup and this year I came to try even harder. I have such amazing people around me who believed in me. I have cried almost every day in this World Cup with anxiety but God took everything for me.

"I kept talking to myself and quoting scriptures from the Bible. There was a lot inside of me left and I tried to stay calm until it finished. To see the score at the end, I could not contain myself.

"We knew we needed one good partnership. I was trying to push myself at the end and I am so blessed to have teammates around me when I could not lift myself up.

"Navi Mumbai has always been special for me and I could not have asked for anything better. Thank you for everyone who came and supported."

  14. 'Today was not about me, it was about making India win'published at 17:30 GMT

Player of the match and India batter Jemimah Rodrigues: "Firstly I want to thank Jesus. And my coaches and every single person who believed in me. This has been really hard but it is a dream and this has not sunk in yet.

"I did not know I was batting at three! I just told them to let me know and I found out five minutes before. It was not to prove a point but just to win this for India. We have always lost in these situations and I wanted to be there until the end to take us through.

"Today was not about my 50 or my 100, it was about making India win. I did things at the right time and everything was just set up for this."

Mike Peter, who will be familiar to many cricket fans on this page, has pointed out that come the end of Sunday, Australia won't hold either the Women's World Cup or the Women's T20 World Cup...

But will it be India or South Africa who join T20 champions New Zealand on top of the world?

India batter Jemimah Rodrigues, her shirt stained in red dirt, has unsurprisingly been named player of the match.

She was dropped for India's meeting with England earlier in the tournament.

Carded at five, she came in at three and she made Australia pay for handing her three lives, scoring 127 not out (134) to send India to the World Cup final.

She's very emotional as she gives her post-match interview.

It was always going to take something special to beat the defending champions and seven-time winners.

That's the highest successful chase in women's ODI history.

India chased 339 with nine balls to spare.

I am lost for words. It is hard to describe what we are witnessing here.

Jemimah Rodrigues will need a couple of days to realise what she has achieved. This is one of the most ridiculous innings in cricket history.

India were the underdogs going into this today but they have taken this in their stride.

In the halfway stage, there would have been conversations about how tough a task this was. Jemimah Rodrigues held her team together.

Australia will be reviewing their dropped catches. But you have to give nod to what India have chased down.
