Hi,Thanks for a great website resource. Hadnāt built anything substantial prior to building this outside office and used the website for all sorts of things during the build.
The rafter calculator, the bullnose calculator, the decking calculator the stairs calculator to name a few. Drew up plans once I had that sort of info and away we went. Learnt heaps. Regards - Dave from New Zealand |

Hi, this is Jerry from West Palm Beach, Florida. Many years ago, we worked together on adding the curved radius molding segment calculator
|
Some things we make are not always segmented together, but glued up in thin layers and then ran through the molder to add the profiles.
The calculator always makes the jobs easier, though. Thanks!

Hi,
Thank you so much for the calculator. The calculations were perfect. My project was a set of steps leading to a room above my shop. I lost a big oak tree a few years ago. I slabbed it up and let it dry a couple of years. I cut out the treads and stringers a year ago and just recently assembled the parts in my shop. I think they turned out great. Thanks again! Thanks for the use of your Masonry Arch Voussoir Calculator!! With the help of your calculator and full scale cutting template I was able to set out all the important components to create this archway. |
I was able to play around with different dimensions, designs and angles etc to confirm the look I wanted, then use that to show the bricklayer what we wanted to achieve. Thanks for helping make my dream feature come true! |

I used blocklayer to space the pickets on a section of our fence that I replaced.
Your calculation for banister spacing saved me so much time! I've got another section to replace in the spring and I'll use your calculator again. Spacing Calculator |

I love youāre web site.
I got a load of lumber from a demolition of an old building. I always wanted a small greenhouse, but with the help of your site I tackled a gazebo instead. I had great fun doing this project along with its frustrations.
Your site made it so easy? No ! Possible!
I am not a contractor. Just an old lady, with some building skills and interest in building things. This was so rewarding to do. Thanks for the help. Gazebo Calculator |

Hello! I recently discovered your Tapered Stave Calculator, and it was a lifesaver for my Djembe drum project! I used a store-bought wood vase for the top and your calculator for the bottom segment of the drum. It was super simple to figure out the correct dimensions utilizing your tool. Thank you SO much for having this tool and site available! Cheers! - Joel from Florida. |

After having Solar installed last fall it was very apparent that a "liability eliminator" was needed.
Nothing was mentioned that when the wet heavy snow releases without any warning and ends up 2 plus feet deep in front of the door on the entry way its not a good situation.
This summer it was necessary to resolve this issue.

Using Blocklayer.com made the initial design very simple, as the project progressed it was very simple to make the final adjustments without the need to do long hand math!

This saved me a bunch of time.

Hi there. I just wanted to let you know that I found your stair calculator incredibly useful.
My wife and I designed and built a set of stairs for my parents, as their existing stairs were not up to code, and had been badly built. In any event, this was our first set of stairs that weāve ever built and itās no easy task for a first timer. I found it so useful to be able to tinker around with potential ideal rises and runs, tread thickness, riser, thicknesses, and nosings and see how it would impact our final product. The end result was honestly fantastic. The stairs are about 1 million times more sturdy than the pre-existing ones and my parents are so incredibly impressed and grateful. Iāve attached some pictures of the project and the final result! Thank you! |

I used your stair calculator to reverse the the stairway to my basement.
The total run was limited by the foundation wall and living space upstairs. Your calculator was invaluable in determining each stringer cut. |

I built this size 104.5 ft² to keep within 105 ft² which is the maximum outdoor structure size I could build in Calgary AB without a permit.
Cutting measurements and angles were perfect. I pre-cut and stained all pieces and then put it together myself without help or assistance. A little tricky - multiple ladders helped. I had 4 steel corner brackets custom made and powder coated. Thank you. Hip Roof Framing Calculator Tim |

I constructed a 12 x 16 shed with a hip roof. All of the dimensions were perfect.
I used the framing calculator as well as the
hip roof calculator from the Blocklayer.com website.
All of the dimensions were exact. The Blocklayer.com calculators saved me quite a bit of time. It was a tremendous help.
Thank You Very Much!! |

Finished project in Spokane, WA
These were 16" steps with a 7 1/16" rise. The throat is narrow and the run is long so I'll be adding a mid support under the stringers between the cement posts. Stair Calculator |
